I would go with the trophy as like everyone says it is a lightning 2 sport.I have an hpi k4.6ho with 18th clutch bell and jp-3 pipe in my lightning and it flys .I have a schumacher havoc and i must have got a dud one.Everytime i use it it breaks and thats with just running in fields.The shock shafts snap at every oppotunity and last time i had it out the gears melted through the gearbox from the inside .I have given up on it now.

I have a baja and a savage xl.You probably wouldnt of got on with the xl either as it is big compared to a normal savage and you would have to lug around nitro,fuel bottle,glo starter and rotostart.I personaly wouldnt favour one over the other as both are better at different things.Brushless and lipo would be good but from what i see it can be very expenvive and i dont realy trust lipo's.I have one of the new e-maxx's aswell and its great fun and i tempted to go brushless in that.i wont go the lipo route tho.I will get some decent 4600 or 4700 7cell batteries.

  7. That looks very nice mate .I have just got back from 2 weeks of racing my new e-maxx around on holidays and need to get myself some 4600 8.4volts battereis and then it should realy fly .I have been turning mine off at the esc and so far its been ok.

Thanks happylad .I just got my baja lastnite and that is a must have mod.it is a total pain haveing to take the rear shock mount off everytime you remove the cage (This is my second baja).I got rid of the first because believe it or not i was spending to much on hopups but here i go again!!I just have to have some of modifieds parts off of hbf rofl

Mr.T when you say roll cage mod do you mean that you can remove the front of the cage without the rear like i have seen pics of on other cars?If so do you have a link or pic of it?Thanks.Just seen your pics in the gallery and its the mod i was thinking of.What size tubeing do i need?Thanks again.

  12. Totaly agree with evoboy about the pipe.The hb pipe will realy hold it back.I had one of those pipes with my lightning buggy and switched it to a jp-3.its way better with the jp-3

Modelsport has the 4500 7 cells powertech batteries with traxxas connectors in stock.I dont know of anywhere else in the uk that do batteries with traxxas connectors already fitted.I am going to go for the vapextech 8.4v 4600's for my e-maxx.they dont come with traxxas connectors but its prity easy to fit the traxxas ones.I have never done any soldering in my life but i managed to fit them after watching the video on the traxxas web site.
  14. Thanks Ash.Yes my e-maxx is just for bashing.Its one of the new maxx's and even with my old 7.2v 3600 packs in it its very nippy.I bet it would realy go with the 8.4v 4600's in it
  15. Have you got your 4600's yet?I want to get some of the 8.4v 4600's for my e-maxx.I was thinking of getting the maxamps ones but they are alot more expensive.

  19. Your baja looks great but for me liveing london they are just to loud .Briliant cars but i sold mine as nitro is a bit more user freindly

The jp-3?The jp-3 is a left hand pipe so i dont think it will fit on the savage but the jp-3 isnt to loud.There is a guy on savage central who got 44mph out of his totaly stock savage xl with temps of 237f(or about there).He is going to try the cen pipe so that should be interesting to see what he thinks.
  22. 230f in last weekends heat was good.I was realy struggleing to keep my little crt.5 below 280f with the body off.I know what you mean about it being hotter in the u.s compared to the u.k but i still think a different pipe will realy liven this engine up.I have a k4.6ho in my hb lighning buggy and fitted a jp-3 to it and it realy goes with that pipe compared to the hpi pipe i had on it before. .

Yep i will let you know if the gear change is ok.I hope it is as i dont realy want to have to strip it down straight away .I have been reading on u.s forums that the stock pipe on the xl is not a good pipe for this engine.The pipe is to small and restricting the power and thats why alot of them run very hot.The pipe that most people seem to like is the cen gst 7.7.It is ment to realy make it go at the topend and keep the temps down
  24. Thanks chris i will take a look.Fuel wise i am not sure what to run.I use byron gen 2 30% in my other cars but i am tempted to get some o'donnells 30% and give that a try
  25. Well i bought myself one and got it today.I obviously havent ran it yet but looks wise it is very impressive.I took out the pre load spacers from the shocks like maxbashing said and lowered the front body mount and now it looks mean and ready to go .
