  1. I think it's the SCRT's greatest party trick, the fact that it can be converted into a CRT.5e with the HN crt.5 pro chassis kit It's like having 2 models for the price of 1 if you don't mind a bit of work doing the conversion
  2. Hey Dom, I've just converted my CRT.5e back to a SCRT so I had something to bash with AJ. The SCTE was too big around the little truggy To be honest I got bored of the SCRT, not because i was breaking it but just fancied the nuttiness of the CRT.5e with the brushless set up I was running and indeed mad it was Much more to the conversion than just the chassis, bumpers and bodyshell by the way if done properly
  3. Awesome fun, had a really good day and I've been proper bitten by the Mardave bug. Best fun I've had without booze for years Got a hat trick in the football as well
  4. You cant re-solder the GPU with an iron it's a BGA chip, you can re ball or re flow it however with the correct machines The heatgun method will work as has been posted but they dont last long so be prepared to have to do it again, this method can also cause the fans to race Either way good luck dude, I hope all works well for you
  5. I've ordered plenty of stuff from Asiatee's and found the postage to be both pretty cheap and quick Good prices as well
  6. Yeah I know dude, not having a go at you It was aimed at the more hair brained ideas that crop up on there, honestly if you could see the state of some of the ones we get in you would know what I mean
  7. Last time I looked it ranged from the " put the motherboard in the oven" idea to various other mad ways to reheat the board. I can testify to how many people try these methods as well as some of them end up in the repair centre I manage, after being traded in etc and some of what we see ranges from the bad to the downright dangerous. Youtube ftw my arse. Shoot me a pm and I can have a look at it if you want
  8. Cue all the youtube "experts"
  9. Great stuff I love the CRT.5e great fun, glad I did the same thing to mine.
  10. I'm really happy with my CRT.5 it's a riot to drive and frankly as mad as a box of frogs Just got to get cnc knuckles, thinner shock oil and put a 14T pinion on it and she'll be good to go. It used to be a SCRT short course but got bored of that, having much more fun with the CRT.5
  11. Awesome day today, blazing hot sunshine an enduro motorcycle race and also about 20 off roaders using the trials course Stuff going on all over the place, great fun
  12. Looks like I'll be coming along, nice day in the sun for me and more video's of you nutters breaking stuff methinks
  13. I agree Hobbywing stuff does go up in smoke, nothing is perfect but for the price you pay for the Hobbywing stuff it's not that much of a pain. When the Castle stuff goes up in smoke however it costs nearly double and yet is no more reliable than the Hobbywing, that was my point. Badly made point I will concede but never the less it would appear to be true. I'm not trying to put Castle motors down here by the way, epic things that I would like to get my hands on and no mistake but some of their esc's just dont seem to marry up the price with the expected quality.
  14. Mmmm when I was at Hobbywings factory in December it seemed to be them making most of the HPI stuff, probably worked out cheaper than HPI having to make their bodyshells fire retardant due to the Castle esc's ahem.........."flaming out"
  15. Looking good Josh, thats running lovely. Must be down to the Engine builder Enjoy it dude
  16. No problem dude Here's a link to the 8.0 one, I had to import mine but you may be able to find one in England with a bit of hunting http://shop.towerhob...?&P=WR&I=LXATNH Be careful when fitting it, Associated's instructions that come with the kit are a little bit vague in some key areas. Best thing to do is strip the gearbox and lay all the parts as they come out of the gearbox. It will become a lot clearer as to what spacer goes where then.
  17. The 8.0 one has larger holes in it due to the retainer pins being bigger in the 8.0 gearbox, also it has a step spacer milled into it rather than just being a straight rod of metal. This is the one for the mgt8.0
  18. The forward only conversion is very much worthwhile, gets rid of all the reverse rubbish in the gearbox. As well as making the truck lighter it also accelerates quicker and gives a bit to the top speed as well. Make sure you get the MGT8.0 version though, the one for the MGT 4.6 is different and does not fit the 8.0's gearbox Also change the hinge pin mounts for aluminium ones, the plastic ones break very easily.
  19. Sorry chaps, I'm gonna be busy this Saturday, have a goodun
