  3. ************** Latest Update **************** Well the rally blocks came this morning (non tamiya) and im well happy, using them with foam instead of inserts as you seem to get a greater contact point when the tyre is under load. The tyres ive opted for are softer than the tamiya's and are semi knobbly in the tread. I fitted tyres and charged up a batt and went for a play! Loved the handling over compacted snow and ice and grip and control felt great, i stayed close to home so a combination of uneven tarmac, gravel and thick ice! kept on going right through the snow and ice and at the end of the test run i was pretty happy, i opened up to find the nubuck covered back had done a great job with droplets of water still beading on the bag like you get on a newly waxed car. No water seems to have penetrated but as inner electrics are pretty waterproof anyway im well chuffed with that! Heat wise, esc and motor are fine and batt's are pretty normal really so cold weather will obviously help but the bag is fully breathable and seems to be workin well! Fine tuning wise im waiting for everything to dry naturally then ill have a good strip and examine but really i think im gonna change the gearing slightly to make it a bit punchier as i could feel the torque was there i just want a bit more oomph off the line lol! Also ill look into a better way of attaching the bag possible stitch it to some 3m hd velcro (if you've read all this thread you'll see a use it a lot but its great!) All in all a great day's fun lol! Hopefully its gonna dry up soon i dont fancy muddy runnin till im happy with the car lol! Ill post pics when i can, happy xmas folks and have a good new year all!!!
  4. OPEN TO OFFERS FOLKS! Not gonna ebay it till feb/mar time so im offerin it here first PM me or post your offer here remember item is PRISTINE! If no sensible offers made i might strip the whole thing and sell it piece by piece instead and id get more for it im offerin it here as a courtesy to everyone here this forum has helped me greatly so come on folks just PM me with a sensible offer!
  5. Hi bud, yeah i did some soldering last night id been puttin it off cos id loads of other to do aswell! Using corally connectors as ive plenty spare and switched the motor for a 13T Ive just skimmed. As for keepin the electrics cool I use a thermelectric motor cooler before runs which helps like you owuldn't believe, that plus ive done the bag now, its waterproofed with nubuck spray which keeps the bag breathable so plenty of air can still circulate, its not perfect but if i can keep most of the bad stuff out i should be fine! So im nearly there and dying to go out for a bash but still awaiting tyres from abroad prob be after xmas now but since its snowin bad i guess i can wait! Once again id love for people to start posting their rally model types, weights and gear ratios for general runnin. Cheers guys
  6. Ill take 35 delivered for the Brushless system alone (had virtually no use an i can get that on ebay) its a 35A Esc.
  7. LATEST UPDATE Ive ordered some rally blocks so while i wait i thought id finish most of the rest of the car off. Started by building a kick plate for underneath, wanted it to be removeable just in case so i got an oversize door hinge and cut it down and drilled two screw holes which i bolted through next to the steering. I used 3m heavy duty velcro along the plate edge and bolted its very strong certainly enough as im going to tape the bottom anyway to protect the screws. You can make out the red at the front, this is a small piece of wire to secure the hinge to the front bumper, add the foam bumper on top to tidy it up (im filing the sharp edges of where ive cut down for tidiness). I fit some road tyres i had so i could test electrics and installed 55/25 gear ratio to start with, ive used a 12t double motor for now after a few test runs ill see what i prefer. I used two water balloons with some insulation tape to seal the receiver as best as reasonably possible. So currently looking like this, got 26mm clearance rear and 24mm at front. I wanted to try a bag idea instead of an interior box so i got an old dust bag from a cheapie sander (unused) and sliced the bottom and temp fixed it to the bottom (tape which im hopin as i plan to black tape it anyway will work nicely) So certainly for dry running im hoping this will work nicely. Still plenty of access ........ Im thinkin of gettin some waterproof spray for the material for muddy runnin. Possibly a little high maintenance for most people but i dont mind as i enjoy strippin and cleanin my cars lol! Ill have to test a few times to see might work on a box aswell! Hopefully tyres wont be too long and in the meantime ill see what else i can come up with! If anyone out there could weigh their cars with or without battery and post for a reference that'd be great, gear ratios people use for different tracks with motors would be useful too and maybe i can compile a reference for everyone, let me know what you think folks ...

  12. There's quite a bit there but i expect to have many adjustments to make like all other projects lol! What size shocks do you use, and tyres if you dont mind still undecided! I wont be racing this car its for fun bashing but will be well maintained!
  13. Hi all, First off the inspiration for this project came from the Thread by XV Pilot this is simply my experiences and research from this and other forums comin together and thought id show the results! I decided to make a rc rally car as im movin abroad next year and want something to take with me (its corfu so not great for road cars) and as ive got a lot of TT01 parts plus reading the thread on the forum it was logical to make one up, i decided straight away i wanted as many alloy parts as poss mainly for strength but for a bit of coolness too! Weight isn't a concern really as motors can be adjusted torque and timing wise to compensate and as i rebuild my own motors not really worried about that ... yet! I started out with a complete car i stripped and cleaned, i measured and cut away the diff supports to allow for suspension droop and added a tamiya ball raced rear diff, fairly tight to start they're easy to adjust with only one screw from the rear wheel hub needing to be removed for access. I used some thick team losi lube too. All bearings were cleaned and re sealed and lubed along with diff bearings, its gonna be clean totally at least once!! Front diff is a 3 racing ball bearing diff again easily adjusted, i used 3 racing front oversize drive shafts and titanium rear oversized shafts for greater stability. Ive installed front and rear alloy diff box covers along with aloy front and rear suspension/body mounts then fitted alloy front hubs and 2deg toe in rear hubs to help with stability. I found that if you use the lower front alloy arms however that the hubs bind and don't allow enough drop i tried combinations and settled with using the stock plastic lower arms as they allow better freedom of movement. In this way i've avoided having to use and modify the standard drive cups as all the bb ones are smaller so drivetrain friction is reduced also ---- please note most of my parts come from job lots and i save quite a bit of cash on ebay too so this is an expensive option but you'd never have to worry about how much power you can put through it lol! I then fitted a bearing steering set with strong arms i mixed and matched from parts here to get best fits and remove as much slop in the steering linkage as i could without making it easy to break and fitted a mg bb fast servo. To the servo i fitted the plastic mount as this allowed me to waterproof (virtually) the servo. I added the Esc at this point, opted for an Mtroniks RV MAX as its fully waterproof and i wont have to worry about overheating. At this point i added a carbon fibre chassis brace with some shims to balance it to increase stability. Next was the receiver, i fitted it to the carbon brace ( note i used 3m double side heavy duty velcro for this and the esc ) and tested the balloon idea id read about ..... Get two water bomb's, trim a little off the end you blow in then stretch over each end of receiver ... one strip of insulation tape over each and its about as waterproof as realistically possible! Well i tried it and it works great so ill wait till a test run otherwise im bound to have to pull it back off again lol! Id ordered some shocks from ebay, decided i didn't really want to build any of mine out and id rather get some adjustable ones, not bad only just over a tenner i think, so they came (this morning actually) so ive fitted them again had to shim out the upper mounts but the action is nice an smooth after a little fettlin, used losi lightweight oil in shocks for a little bounce. Plans next are for the tyres ... still decidin between tamiya rally blocks or some mini pins. And front bumper and kick plate got an idea for that using a hinge but we'll see!!! Ill post updates when i can, thanks to anyone who's posted in MSUK and any other forums i may have read you've helped my build go smoothly. 14. Dead Rebellion ----- new electro/hip hop/rock!!!! Myspace em they're cool!!!
  15. Glad you got it saw your posts! Same thing for me got my ball diff today and its raining grr!!!!
  16. Hi folks, had a ball diff for my TT01 delivered today, im wanting to set it up with maximum slip for my car but when installing the wheels dont rotate the same as they did before, side nearest the motor (left) is nice an loose but opposite side is not as smooth, and wheels do not rotate in opposite directions as before, is this normal? Any tips for setting it up? not using the supplied grease i have my own bearing lube which is nicer, cheers folks
  17. You're lookin at about 110 maximum delivered, forget about wanting more cos of the memory card they cost peanuts if you shop around, check out ebay prices
  18. Ok so last night i had some fun! Installed a Team Orion 10x2 Motor and Integy Heat Sink with fan, I cleaned the diff (again) and used some motorcycle silver lube (kinda like copper grease) nice n slippy now but boy the back end still wants to go for a walk! Also having trouble keeping the steering trimmed in, it keeps going one way or the other not massivly but at the speed im doin now not the best! Installed aluminium tie rods so i think im gonna strip the front end today and take all the slop out i can, dont know if anyone else has a bit too much movement with the front wheels through the steering knuckles? getting maybe 2mm movement so gonna try to sort that! Running a 55/25 gear at the moment but i think im gonna sacrifice a bit of top end for acceleration and switch to 58/25 ..... Might help with the heat too as motor is getting silly warm running that fast! Also battery is dying far quicker than when i had a 13t motor and 61/22 gearing so ill try to find a compromise! It is fun though as the local kids were visibly shocked how fast it can go over 200m!!! So im waiting on a ball rear diff and 2 deg toe in rears now to help with stability ... i hope!!!! Im only using Dahmann 3300 mah battery's which are obviously cheap and cheerful and got 4 with a job lot and if this is how much punch im gettin from old undischarged battery's then i may have to invest in something nice to race with!! I have a wireless camera which i put on another car so todays project is to increase the gain on that so i can get a better pic through movement!!! Will post more pics when i get the diff..... Happy racin folks!!!
  19. I use an integy heat sink with fan soldered to motor, im runnin a tt01 chassis but have the carbon fibre upper deck and it fits ok
  20. Today the postman brought me 5 Team Orion Motors!!!!!!!!!
