  1. What a boring, nondescript thing that is. I understand fully that there will be a market for it, and Tamiya will only make what marketing have proven they can sell, but to me it's just a boring little hatchback. Maybe if it were in a race livery it would be more interesting? Sadly lots of road cars are now jelly mould clones of each other, so it stands to reason that RC scale versions will follow, but that makes me feel sad. Lets hope we see more classic designs released also.

Sorry if anyone disagrees with me, but I am entitled to my own free thought, and opinion. After having 10 operations in 2 years, 9 of which wouldn't have been needed if the first surgeon did his job properly, I have no time for anything doctors say. Anyway, enough of this serious rubbish, back to talking toy cars.

Ideal for showing you who the brainwashed sheeple are that think the virus is real. Wake up and smell the population control attempt people.
  4. I've decided this is coming off the shelf, and will be a runner.
  5. Welcome, I'm not far from you, ideal group for you here if you are on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/673428289701136/
  6. Tamiya do not use, nor have ever used Philips, or posidrive. This is why people chew Tamiya screws up, use a JIS driver, and no issue with the screws at all.
  7. This should help tell you how to set LIPO
  8. Disagree about the body, I like it, but spot on with the rest. A proper gearbox, taking the power down to a real transfer case, strong gears, and a nice forward weight bias. Behind axle steering. An electrics tray that comes out in 1 piece with everything attached. All simple things, but combined to make a great truck, I was thinking I need to stock up on spares for my two, but there are no real weaknesses that I can think of that I need to cover.
  9. I don't know why more people didn't buy the Venture. It's a great chassis, and I have chosen to build my latest competition truck on the chassis, rather than an SCX. There are some very clever design features on it. Selling more Ventures wouldn't have saved them. People buying 5th scale stuff from them, instead of clones wouldn't have saved them. But the 2 combined may have been enough to make them a viable purchase for another company to have considered buying HPI.
  10. In the High Court of Justice Court Number: CR-2019-002267 https://m.thegazette.co.uk/notice/3249169?fbclid=IwAR1Jm4pOQVewRbwJC9eXg-Lnh9Vqpa-TI2OJetuM1y9iqf2YukYh4cgW8WY
  11. This is what I use in both of mine. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RC-Pinion-Gear-Steel-48DP-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20-21-41-Radio-Control-UK-stock/273606217780?hash=item3fb4339034:m:mb6VZ7UY8Y-ds_laYmEi-sQ
  12. 35 turn motor, and gear down to a 14 tooth pinion if running 2s, 13 tooth if going 3s. That is what everyone on the Carisma official Facebook page does. And it works great.
  13. I had one, years ago PROS, It's fast CONS, Absolutely everything else. It was rubbish when current, and hard to get parts for then, hate to think what it would be like now.
  14. This, this, and this again. Cracking kit, goes together well, good instructions, just grab some bearings.
  15. All sound good, except for the servo, they are junk, get a nice 15 or 20 KG waterproof one on ebay for around £18.
  16. The new Fury appears very well made, and a massive step up, and it's a true 1/10 size. The Kanyon is also quite good, yes it's a bit big, and basically a crawler with a scaler shell, but the build quality is there, and appeals to the target market. 2 years ago I would have told people to stay away from FTX, but now I say go for it, they just need to step up there game with the build quality of there ESC's now.
  17. Looks identical to the FTX Mauler, with an ugly body thrown at it. I'll pass thanks.
  18. Far too toy grade for my liking. Just when the FTX brand is offering some very impressive models, this feels like a backwards step.
  19. Not the posty, but my wife. P.B.M. put these on offer at just the right time for me. Was looking to pay up to £300 for a new scaler, and this wasn't even on my radar, as it was too expensive. But then P.B.M. dropped them to £280, so it jumped home with her. Only problem now is I need to recover from surgery I had Monday, before I can use it.
  20. Last time I had some unused radio, it was all working, but not worth a great deal, I gave it to my local club. They can use it in club cars, or donate, or sell it to new members who are just setting up.
  21. This is the correct answer. And exactly what I did.
  22. This is a small review I wrote after building the 6WD version of this. What a horrible build this was. The instruction are very poor, if it wasn't for years of experience, it would have been very easy to make numerous mistakes. The screws are tiny, and the plastic very hard to screw into, twice I stabbed myself, as the force needed to push on the screwdriver was crazy, and you can only use a small driver. The truck itself seems ok, it has no electrics in it yet. I was amazed that it comes with a proper proportional servo in the kit. If this was your first RC build, it could put you off, but if you know what you are doing, and have a bit of experience, then it's a bit of something different Honestly, for a kids first build, I would go Tamiya, or Axial, something quality, with good instructions.
  23. While recovering from an operation, and then moving house, it'll stay as is, but will be going brushless in time.
  24. My Outbacks. They are stock except for preload spacers removed, and batteries moved up front. More mods are on the way though.
  25. Got it. Just need to wait a few weeks, before I can take it out.
