Traxxas Sues Hobbiton / arrma durango

Just saw this story as I searched for info on another news article.

So the story starts around May this year, when traxxas file a claim for patent infringement against Hobbico/arrma dunago due to issues regarding arrmas Nero model containing parts identical to traxxas's revo

This was later ammended to specify the issue was narrowed down to a steering mechanism and shock setup that had been patented by traxxas, then copied by arrma durango

    https://www.scribd.com/document/320063741/Traxxas-v-Hobbico-Amended-Complaint

Which then lead to Hobbico discontinuing to sell traxxas products, starting firstly with the trx4 and then the rest

And also, sadly, the discontinuing of the team Durango brand

At 2 PM CT, the Facebook page Track13News (https://www.facebook.com/track13news) posted the following:

“Due to market conditions, the Team Durango product line has been discontinued and we will receive no further product shipments. (We do have some parts inventory remaining and available for a limited time.) We thank all Team Durango customers and team members for their dedication to Team Durango. NOTE: THE ARRMA BRAND is growing quickly and unaffected.”

It's unclear where the statement came from. I reached out to Hobbico spokesperson Natalie Rodrigues, who confirmed the decision via email, saying:

"Thank you for reaching out to inquire more about the status of Team Durango. As you know, we're always striving to develop new products to service our customers with a broader range of diverse and innovative vehicles. With that said, the Team Durango product line has been discontinued and we will receive no further product shipments (we do have some parts inventory remaining and available for a limited time).

We are excited to introduce new vehicles from our other established brands in the future. We thank all Team Durango customers and team members for their dedication to Team Durango.

This is very, very old news, with lots of assumptions thrown in. Heck, if you were going to report anything, it should have been the TRX/Associated thing which is much more current.

Traxxas are the worst they copy F1 suspension who copied ???? And pretend they invented it. Four tires and a servo. File a claim. Shutting down brands. Killing the hobby.

I thought clones killed the hobby. This rate china rcs will be the only alternative to traxxas. Once they bankrupt everyone in court. Each victory brings a price hike to their line up.

I am a traxxas fan tho but im getting sick of their tactics.

Traxxas hired John white to design the revo suspension for 'em. The same bloke that designed the f1 suspension.  I thought that's a well known fact. Traxxas were going on about it for quite a while . John's also designed various 4 link mtb suspensions too.

    Thanks for your 'helpful' input

It's funny Carlos...if you'd have only taken the time to write an article on the TRX/associated suit instead of whining about my news article eh.....maybe then you could have given back to this community.....

I'm off to the loo.....if only I could print your post out to wipe my backside with....

A quick Google search would have supplied you with details on more current events (X-Maxx/MT28). Some quick Google searches would have also likely have given you more accurate information on what you did post. The post sounds like it was written by someone who had absolutely no idea what was going on, and what was mentioned happened forever ago, at least by internet news standards. For example,  your statement of "Which then lead to Hobbico discontinuing to sell traxxas products", anyone who is remotely "in the loop" knows there was a lot more going on than just the ARRMA lawsuit, like a half dozen other contributing factors to the Hobbico and Traxxas break-up.

Yawn......get over it dude......for a new member that joined the day after I published this you seem to be shedding a lot of tears over this......

Who you work for then??? Or are you just a sad act with nothing better to do from one of the traxxas forums???

Im not getting dragged into some childish debate for the sake of it...... needless to say....i Don't recall seeing any effort whatsoever put in from yourself regarding news articles
