And to think, 10 or so years ago,People all over this forum were scoffing at the mere mention of Hobbywing , Cheap Chinese ripoff controllers they would say, It's castle Creations or nothing.

Yeah it kind of makes me laugh that Babylon........its lose lose IMO, they do make good usable products, far cheaper for rc companies listed above to simply buy them in bulk off the shelf from hobbywing, albeit rebadged, than to put time and effort into r+d etc etc to create your own.......

Which is great, but is obviously not sustainable in the long term, as in the end....almost every company will use hobbywing esc's....which is bad for the hobby as a whole as theirs no variety/competition.....years down the line the rc companies will realise they've gone from using off the shelf ESC's to increase profit margins etc etc to completely relying on hobbywing for components......kyosho is an example of this.

One should presume that this comparable 'micro example' will filter out to every level of the hobby....as it is echoed around the world in manufacturing......great for 20 years...not so great for the future after that.....

"Cutting off your nose to spite your own face" springs to mind.....

Ho hum, what can be done???

    I won't drag this ...:offtopic:...any further...

After edit: food for thought, ty tessman has just signed with hobbywing for the next two years!!!
