  1. Gotta disagree on that one mate. I know that in some cases you get what you pay for but just because these Ansmann radio's seem cheap they are good quality and I wouldn't hesitate to put one in a Baja or other 1/5th Scale. They are a great radio. I do run a different radio to that but have run them and had alot of experience with them, I'd suggest testing and using one before putting such a statement as that. I'd say in my opinion that something like a DX3S or R is better quality and feels a bit better but they are over twice the price. I know as Carl said some of the first batch of the S had some issues with the scroll wheel but the new V2 is spot on.

  2. 10000000000% disagree on this, reason been I had the DX3s and that blew up, the roller selector broke and so did the steering knob. I then bought the Ansmann and like you say you ain't used it. So how can you say anything I know from experience that the radio is just as good as the DX3s I had, has better range and as many functions as you need in largescale. It doesn't feel cheap it's quite a heavy unit in comparison to the DX3s. Just because it isn't over the

  4. I'm not dissing the Annsmann as I have no experience of it, but skimping on a large scale radio just doesn't make sense. You spend all that money on a large scale and then put in a cheap radio - which is probably the most important part. If a cheap radio goes wrong - it could end up costing you a fortune to repair the car - or more importantly could cause someone some serious damage. I no not everyone's got loads of money - but if you can afford a large scale you should be avle to afford a decent radio to go in it. Why compromise on something so important.

  5. I got the Ansmann last week mate. Think it a good bit of kit the the price. Easy set up and easy to bind extra receivers to as well http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=33069 This is it from here cheaper than the one you linked

  7. I did like above, stripped it and bunged it in the oven. Then put the handle of a wooden spoon against the front bearing from the inside and tapped the spoon end with the plam of my hand. Before it cooled down I put the new bearing onto the crank to make sure it went in square, and pushed the bearing into the front.
