  1. Nice one , Welcome to the Early RR5 Club !! Looking forward to mine 2-3 weeks .
  2. Well good start for the RR5 A weeks hard racing at the Euros and being crowned European 4x4 Champion (and 2nd as well ) and running in nearly 40 deg heat to boot below link to the final on R/C TV .
  3. The ball drives are only at one end Universal at the other ,Increase the ball size and Joint size for greater angle ,not that it is compares to some dog bone set ups , I don't know it will be 100% , I doubt they would put Mega money into a project ,so they could get a headache for fun ,they are in it to win Races ,which they have done all over . As I said better thought out than most extensively tested by top Race guys for hours , So if Joe Bloggs from Chippingarsole knows better , I am sure his factory Invite just got lost in the post and his opinion is sadly missed .
  4. I had a think looked at the pics and spec , Just couldn't believe they would use Dog bones on the cenrtal Tranny at those angles ,Anyway thet don't ,Ball drives to Centre Diff ,and Large CVD type universal Joints to the F & R diffs . Still it's allways good to Oil your Balls anyway !!!
  5. Dave , I will Admit it was an area of concern to me ,and perhaps it's a higher priority maintenance area ,than a straight cup set up , time will tell , I asked the Question ,and they said provided the Boots were fitted and the area lubricated regularly ,it kept the temp down and reduced ware and tare ,and they were not worried after hard testing at the Lizard Belly Istanbul Circuit ,the biggest ware item was tyres ,on the rock ,they got through a lot .
  6. Front Brake and Throttle one Large servo (or high power small ) rear Brakes one small servo
  7. The Final spec ( what's inc at delivery ) yet to be finalised ,but it's expected to Retail at
  8. Ordered mine Yesterday , If you look at the spec in detail ,some very clever touches and top Quality , the layout dates back years ,but some modern twists , Top Job
  9. Hey Up N H !!! nice to nice , Luckily we got through to them on threadlock , and I sold my Jackhammer !!! . You are right as well ,Race Orientated , or in my case Hobby driver , and MCD Guru . Cheers Mike
  10. Holy S4it You Guys don't Go off Topic ,you go into a Facebook Desert . The topic the expensive race out of the box MCD RR5 Now anyone want to talk about it !!!!! After some research and having owned quite a few MCD's ,I decided to Order One Today ,and Yes I am Smiling
  11. Got to Agree with Dave (Roverman ) generally the race guys are very helpful to fellow competitors ,no matter what you drive ,yes they will have some fun and banter , a few are very focused on the racing . As for the latest Gear /Models well the top few guys need it for those extra seconds ,but a very good driver who makes less mistakes ,might need less , a car ,a driver and an engine all need to be tuned in to win ,and set ups are very Important . Back to the RR5. MCD have not finalised the spec ,still making changes as they test ,when they are ready the shell off shots and specs will be released
  12. So Guys have a Guess on price
  13. Full or more details after it's rumored first outing at the German Nationals this weekend , All new Layout very high quality and spec , a few details to be confirmed ,3 new Large LSD's ,Alloy towers ,Milled chassis , tuned pipe ...... .
