Lipo cut off

Hey guys. Ok so i ordered my brushless ftx carnage which arrived yesterday and i read somewhere about a low voltage cut off that cuts the car out when the battery gets to a certian voltage to stop the lipo getting damaged. Will this be a built in feature on the esc or is it something i need to buy to plug into the esc? Cheers guys :)

According to the manual I can find online,

http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/product/FTX5532/files/FTX%20Vantage-Carnage-Instuction-Manual.pdf

it's using an E-Tronix Photon 2.1W esc with a low voltage cutoff. It apears to be set at 3.0V by default, which seems a little low to me. It can be set to 3.2 or 3.4V, but you would have to do that by following the manual and counting flashes. You could buy a program ar that makes it easy....but it depends how often you are going to want to play with settings. Would cost you £7 plus postage for a card to suit that ESC.

You can get low voltage buzzer alarms that plug into the balance lead, but unless the car is close to you, you just will not hear it. I use them on my transmitters, which I have converted to LiPo. Mainy becuase it's too easy to stick them in the bag without turning them off!
