losi8igh
My 5ive came with a BZM micro exhaust that had also been wrapped. The previous owner had changed the mounting arrangement and the results made it look a bit messy as he had welded over the previous mounting points so I think he wrapped it to cover that up,it was functional just not pretty It had some surface rust on it and I just used some oil and wire wool that seemed to work well at getting the surface rust off. There were a few dents in the pipe and around the areas that had been patched that I couldn't get the wire wool into to make it perfectly clean but it still came out okay. NG15
Engine arrived today, lovely bit of kit and came with a 990 carb not the 1107 I was expecting which is a bonus. It's a Billet case G340 full-mod, needs a Bart clutch housing now though which I forgot to order.

NG15
When I do buy from MMR I email Ian first to check lol. Ive just had a green hour so I stripped, clean, re-oiled and re-built the centre and rear diff, both were dry with no oil left, I think it had all leaked out TBH as it was a mess around it. All 4 screws on both diffs were loose too. Here's a pic to show how dry the diffs are and the wear on the drive ups (have now swapped then round) I also put the centre diff back in the area setup. I've had to use stock disks as the MRC ones are too thick for the caliper with the wonky pads. I'll be emails RCmodelz about this tonight. losi8igh
I was thinking of the MMR in Birmingham Those drive cups are pretty dam worn, mine where nothing like that but I replaced them all anyway. I sold the old ones even though there were a little rusty and pitted and got half the price for the set of 6 used ones that the new ones cost me so wasn't too bad I figured why not just do it to save me the potential hassle of having to do them later. NG15
Got the front diff done and oiled then cleaned everything up this afternoon. Chassi was a right pain to clean being full of grease and dirt, a good carb cleaner worked wonders and I'm happy with how it came out considering. Anyway I got down to building it back up tonight. Pleased with how it's coming together so far. Just the radio tray/servos to sort and shocks to oil then it should be done ready for break in. losi8igh
Sticking with the cast stock clutch housing for now then?
NG15
That reminds me I need to order one. I'll email nige at freeprawn to get an eta. I'm eyeing up a different clutch setup so I'll change it when I change the clutch. These full mods eat stock clutches, especially with tall gearing. NG15
It's done for now, more mods planned but working away for a week now so nothing will be ordered till I'm back. Next mods will be proline blockade tyres, billet f/r diff cases, some sort of tougher shock towers and a few other bits to make it bullet proof. Tonight i rebuilt the the shocks and filled them with 50wt oil. I'm going to give the red springs a go although I have the blue ones still incase I don't like them. Also fitted the savox steering servo, binded my dx4s and set all the endpoints. Love the dx4s, I've had 4pksr's, MT4s and loads of other radios but nothing compares to spektrum IMO, so easy to use and do what you ask of them. Tempted to try a DX4R in the coming months. Heres a few snaps, hopefully I'll get an idle tank through it tomoz.
