P.Salter
Im posting on behalf of my dad as he dosnt do Internet haha. He has a tamiya bruiser which he's had for years and he's in the process of getting it back on the road and a bit more up to date. Is there anyone that could recommend a esc that will work with the original motor? Thanks.
the watchman
The esc from a traxxas summit 1/10 will happily do it.

NITO
Just for some more variety...I'm using this one, really pleased with it, it also has 2s and 3s lipo compatability if he chooses to upgrade the battery ever in the future. http://www.modelsportuk.org/newsite/hpi-sc-3swp-waterproof-electronic-speed-control/rc-car-products/384395 Regards Nito

P.Salter
Thanks guys, he's also making his own land rover shell and the original tyres are a bit to small, can you recommend a set of chunkier tyres that will fit the original wheels? He wants a spare for the spare wheel on the bonnet so will he have to buy two sets of 4 or can you buy them in sets of two? Cheers. (I will upload some pics when he's finished)
NITO
You can buy wheels in sets of two. (You can also get the hop up 4 piece beadlock wheels which are great) Larger tyres, have a look at most 2.2 in tyres. Gmade big horns (maybe too big), there are a few other offerings from Proline and the like, be careful with clearance at full steering lock on the front. The larger diameter tyres are upto like 138mm compared to standard at 120 from memory. Forget pics when finished, we want pics during as well!! P.Salter
Here it is. The body is all hand made, made of aluminum and he's even got a driver! Should be finished in the next couple days.

NITO
I think you may find that is not a Bruiser, rather the rarer 3 speed Hilux or Blazing Blazer that preceeded it! Just a pic off the net. Nice. Nito

P.Salter
The bonnet and tailgate opens, it'll have working lights and a soft top when he gets round to making it.

Gaz!
Can't beat a nice land rover.....
Nitroholic
And that's a nice Land Rover. Nice to see someone taking the time and effort to make something unique, rather than just buying a body and spraying it. It's all very neatly finished and just has that 'look' that you can't get with injection moulded plastic. Suits a Land Rover perfectly. Will look great when it;s done. NITO
Ignore my comments earlier about 2.2" wheels. Since this is not a Bruiser but the earlier Hilux, those wheels should be 1.9" size. Bruiser wheels would not fit those arches. Have a look at 1.9" tyres instead, for example here; http://www.modelsport.co.uk/tyres/rc-car-categories/9960/996010&MSAttributeID[58]=1219&MSAttributeID[63]=870 Cheers Nito
P.Salter
Nice one, cheers. We wasn't sure what it was as a mate gave it to him years ago so I did a bit of research to find out what it was and it looks pretty much like a bruiser. So what's the difference between the bruiser and the hilux?
NITO
Fundamentally they're not too different. Both are 3 speeds, similar chassis, there are differences as you can see in the pics with the suspension, wheels, bodyshell, electronics box, steering mechanism and I think the 4wd diff locks are different, ie you need to so something with the front hubs but I'm not sure as I'm not overly familiar with the Hilux. Of course they are both Hilux, albeit the Bruiser is based on a later generation Hilux.
