Adams HPI Firestorm 10T

Recommended Posts

So I've had my firestorm 10T for 1 and half years (First Nitro car)..

Few pictures of it new (I'm sure you've all seen these)..

The last time I was out I trashed the wheels and flipped the buggy wrecking the shell a bit.. so tonight I've sat and looked around and bought the following shell for it which happens to be one of my favourite GT500 cars (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281230406028?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)... well a slight copy of it anyway! good old "Niassn" and "aulech" etc

And then some different wheels as the truggy wheel look wont rock well.. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390743237588?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648)

Should be interesting to see if the parts can be made to fit.. and if I can lower the firestorm enough that it looks decent!

p.s. I know that the wheels will be sticking out. Should have about half an inch of wheel either side!

Today I had my two No 8 glow plugs arrive.. Apparently posted on Saturday but I'm not so sure! anyway got one in got the engine tuned up nicely..

Went up to my local playing fields and had a good 30 minutes of blasting around until... dun dun dun....

10 minutes later and I had it repaired.. Although I need a new?.. Suspension arm I think it is? (plastic cross member from wheel to chassis as theres a crack in the plastic).. luckily the steering servo is alive and working still!

Now I'm happily awaiting my new body shell and wheels.. Oh also rolled it tonight about 3-4 times.. The spoiler on the new body shell will _NOT_ last long as @evssv says!

OK so the wheels arrived today.. sadly the postie couldn't get the shell in my post box (not surprising) so that will need collected tomorrow.

I put the wheels on and lowered it fully to see what it looks like.. Its er.. Different that's for sure! looks quite good in real life IMO. The wheels are tiny compared to the old ones so I expect the wheels wont be sticking out half as bad. I'm also loving the camber on the rear wheels!

Looks a little better than I first thought, kudos to you for trying something different!

You may find that you'll need to change the clutch bell though as the wheels are a lot smaller so you've effectively altered the final ratio. See how you get on!
