  1. It's never easy finding parts for older cars but I'm glad you've sorted it part numbers and ebay are sometimes the best way forward when you are searching.
  2. ebay seller stanton-co are selling the ze616 if you need it. maybe they have the other one, I've not looked tbh. All the best
  3. Your best bet would be ebay, sometimes a complete rolling chassis will appear if you're lucky. ZE616 is the first gear ZE619 is the second gear I did a google search and it looks like parts support is discontinued, rctech is a useful place to look around for info. Hope it helps somewhat. Team magic G4 might have some compatible parts, worth looking into if you have the time to.
  4. Does look like one version of the axis but the bumper does not look original. If you are lucky to speak with the right person with good customer service, I would try emailing Schumacher and see what they have to say
  5. Inserts are like tyres. The harder they are, the less grip they provide.
  6. Lots of practice and only changing one thing at a time to help you understand if it helps you or not. The T2 is an old car now so if you're buying it used, make sure it is in good condition. To give you something to aim for, when your fastest lap and average lap time are within 0.3 of a second you are doing well
  7. Hi, Does anyone know who fixes the above in the UK? I think the throttle pot needs replacing (again) as I cannot get any brakes from the ESC or calibrate the ESC with the transmitter unless I use the steering channel. It went a few years ago and it cost me about 50 quid to get it fixed. The guy I usually use is either not repairing them any more or he's on holiday Ty!
  8. Xray are strong cars, so you won't need many spares for them. The downside is they are a bit more expensive usually.
  9. My Tekin RS Pro has been a reliable ESC, the only one I've ever needed since brushless came out But the most it's seen is a 13.5 boosted.
  10. The right tyres are the first thing. Some clubs have a tyre rule so look into that if you have not already done so. Correct timing on the ESC and motor end bell are important to the operation of the motor and the lap time too. Batteries are not as important with a 13.5, anything over 50c should suffice. A car needs to be light, strong and have good parts support. I'd suggest a Xray t4 13 used or a T4 '14 if funds allow
  11. Greg @ RC-Disco put right the error they made with the postage and credited me, so all's good Roll on the next race meeting.... Car isn't perfect but it's miles better!
  12. Car was massively different last night. Took 4th in the A for qualifying, and that's where I finished in the race. I was following 3rd for a while, but a few errors made me loose some time.
  13. Just a quick heads up about rc-disco if you plan on ordering anything from them. Wednesday I got my parts (next day service) so top marks for them in that respect however... I distinctly remember ticking the option of having UPS delivery for peace of mind, (which costs a bit more than royal mail) and it arrived by Royal Mail. If the parts had got lost in the post, it would have made things a lot harder to trace. Maybe it was a one off, but the point is if you pay for a service, you should get it.
  14. Well I've got 2 as an experiment to try tonight whilst i'm racing, if I have time to fit them
  15. I will see if I can get some to fit the front hubs on my t4 and see if it makes any difference. Just one of those brainstorming idea moments (most of mine are not great lol)
  16. EPA wasn't set right Steering middle value adjustment needs to be adjusted to my liking (too twitchy on initial turning, need to slow it down a bit). Suspension ball joints were binding (the main reason why my car was hesitating to turn right unless I backed right off the power!) Wrong spur gear used (Too small) and causing motor issues ride height too low Bumper foam catching the ground and upsetting the balance so flipped over. Steering linkage (centre assembly) loose new front dcj's were not great quality. o ring in diff needs replacing So.... kinda explains why my car was never going to see an A final until it had been looked at with an experienced set of eyes lol. I will admit, setup is my weak point. I can set some things up on a car well, (shock rebound, driveshaft building, tyre prep) but others get overlooked or I am truly rubbish at doing them
  17. Ok, so on high bite tracks such as carpet, where the weight distribution load can be higher and more abrupt than a low grip scenario, I am wondering if the structure of a flanged bearing would help them last longer? Would the outer cage of a flanged bearing assist the support of the driveshaft axle better and therefore prolong the life? On a side note, am I getting too geeky on my thought?
  18. The car has seen an expert pair of eyes and has been given the once over. More to report on at the weekend, after its Friday night race.
  19. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will have a look at them. Racing has been an uphill struggle recently, (more work than enjoyment) so hopefully that changes....
  20. I was not expecting HPI to use the Pro branding anymore. Especially after the flop of the flexy chassis flop pro 3.....
  21. Thank you for the heads up, I will check it. Although I should have been more informative as to what is wrong (d'oh! lol) so very unlikely to be the diff. It doesn't turn right very well. I have to turn right handers much slower. I have not checked the hinge pins yet, so I'm hoping it's something like that / an easy fix.
  22. well, that meeting ended up in disaster. I poled the C in qualifying! Shocking. I finished 2nd iirc. I am at a loss as to why my car resembles something I have trodden in. I've rebuilt the shocks, new seals, pistons, rebound, new end caps for them too. Super annoying as I know how to wheel a car very well, June last year I set my PB and its gone down hill from there.
  23. Ty An A final finish will be acceptable, nothing less
