  1. Actually, its old news, hydrogen fuel cells and other hybrid designs have been around in RC for a long time. I remember reading about them almost a decade ago. Such threads do pop up occasionally. Its nothing new, although it is clever, It does have a long way to go, and at the moment, is unpractical for any sort of widespread use. Also, as stated above, Methanol is easily synthesised so how usefull the technology will be in anything under a 1/5 scale 2 stroke is questionable and worthy of debate. And, besides that, people are perfectly allowed to express such oppinions... Definately!! But Innovation comes through Criticism does it not? Done....... http://www.msuk-foru...of-tts-new-toy/ and http://www.msuk-foru...pv-basestation/ Here is an example of a typical project of mine that pushes the boundaries of RC, i undertake many such projects, far too many to document them all. Other members here also undertake some breathtaking projects from jet cars to alternate power sources. By your own logic, referring to your first quoted post, many of us clearly "have the brains", So please, Accept the criticism for what it is, Afterall, Criticism is what makes things get better. Or go Troll somewhare else..
  2. These lock like some of Nick's Rides.. Back on topic however. wow! what a piece of s**t!!! if it sold for more than
  3. Havent really considered any trades as such, suppose depends whats on offer. As for price, feel free to make an offer, although judging by E-bay even for used models, i feel my asking price is fair so i wont be budging much.
  4. If theres no interest in it soon it will go on Ebay.
  5. Revorocks is spot on there. The E-Maxx Brushless is a good truck, but needs a fair bit done to it to reach its full potential. The Savage Flux is the superior of the two there by far. However, i too would say the E-Revo is worth a look. Having owned all 3 at some point or other, i would say the E-Revo is the finest electric MT you can buy!! I found it far superior to even the savage flux! And its pretty tough out of the box.
  6. For sale i have an Apple iPod Touch 4th Generation (latest generation) 32GB Model. It was bought as a present and was ultimately unused and given back to me, as such, it is for sale. It has been in a protective case since new and barely used, and as such, has no scratches at all on the screen. And very limited scratches on the chrome back. It has been reset back to factory settings ready to be set up and used by a new owner. It comes with all the documentation, box, origional data/charging cable, and headphones (new and unused) Now Listed on E-Bay. Listing Becomes Active at 16:00 12/05/2012 http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1554.l2649
  7. For sale i have a TCS Crawlers Savage Flux 5T Conversion Kit. Now Listed on E-Bay. 8. I saw it on Thursday and really enjoyed it, it had more plot and more humor than I expected. Decent film.
  9. As much as I hate seeing the age old topics myself, I feel this is the best reply on the thread! I too think Mr Holics 1st response was a little harsh, and likely to provoke a less than favourable response. And why it's been left open to the bandwagon hijackers is a mystery to me! Anyway. I digress. Someone said "it's an IC civil war!" [\ leans back, forms hands in pyramid of contemplation and watches nitro and petrol fight it out so brushless can mop up the survivor. Mwuhahahaha!!]
  10. Like many here, I started with nitro, have had a fair few 1/10 and 1/8 nitros over the hears, and I think my peak with nitro was the Revo. It was beautifull! I do like the look of nitro cars! When I went brushless though, I never looked back! With the increasing prices of nitro fuel and glow plugs, it's now getting to the stage whare brushless and lipo is competitive financially in terms of initial outlay to nitro! And is definately cheaper to run long term. Also, those who say there's no tinkering or personalisation and whatnot in brushless either haven't bothered to learn, or don't actually own one. Once you get your head in it, there's so much you can do with a quality brushless system to get your setup just the way you want it. However, brushless just feels Too... Clinical!! Many people who run both will know what I mean, for example, you can't beat adjustable front and rear disc and pad mechanical brakes! (like you'd find either side of the centre diff in most 1/8 buggy's and troughs.) Motor braking just doesn't feel the same, feels almost unnatural, also, can't set front/rear individually. I felt something was missing after many years of brushless, and occasionally I yearned for the feel of an engine, but nitro sounds like a jar of angry wasps and smells like a school science laboritory, hardly what I'd consider what people seem to call "a real engine". So I did the logical thing, bought a Baja to satisfy the primal urges that brushless just can't quench. I don't think nitro is dieing, but it's certainly loosing a share of the market to electric and petrol. Ask this question in 2 or 3 years however and the answer may be different.
  11. There are many Chinese and hong kong companies that will do it, but generally American companies don't. Falsifying customs declarations over the pond carries some nasty penaltys so ultimately it's not worth them risking themselves for something that is our problem (import tax) Also, if they insure the parcels, and it gets lost, they will be obliged to refund you, but they can only claim back what it's declared at. So again, not worth them doing it. Bottom line is for the sellers, it's all negatives and risks to them with absolutely zero gains.
  12. Generally, brushed motors do spark between brushes and commuter, when you say it's smoking, I assume you mean when the ez start is turning over and not when the truck is running? If the electric motor is smoking when your using the ez start it may just be some crud in the motor, (being too generous with the likes of wd40 can cause it) or it may be time to replace the ez start motor. If you mean the engine head is smoking, it's running too lean, or may have an air leak.
  13. I've had a couple of close calls too. When doing a drag race with my E-Revo and rhyscrash's 1:1 scale Honda in the snow, my revo went under it, also had some numpty in a tractor pull up to us once to have a nose and he ran over my buggy's front left hand corner. RC's seem surprisingly resilient to 1:1 cars. Ultimately though the ideal solution is not to run them on roads.
  14. Like mr Babylon, I think deans are overrated massively. There small, awkward to solder, and require heat shrink to do properly. Plus there sometimes difficult to plug and unplug. The best deans I have seen are deans XT plugs from robotbirds website. I use them on some of my smaller packs for aircraft. There sort of like an easy grip deans, far superior to normal deans. I prefer and use traxxas connectors as they are easier to plug/unplug, and encapsulate the wire and solder joint. Can be a pain with 8AWG and bigger wire though, and are a little pricey. EC3 's and EC5's are certainly among the best connectors in RC. higher contact area between soldered joints, higher contact area between connections too, easy to solder and assemble, no real negatives at all to be honest. If I ever did a mass soldering session and redone all my bats and ESC's, I'd do them in EC's
  15. Sparks when pluging in lipos isn't uncommon, especially when we are talking 6s.. It shouldn't be dead though, may be a fault with the ESC. if that is the case, it may be a case of returning the ESC to whare you bought it so they can warranty it. Can you be more specific as to what's happening with your charger? What charger is it? Is it set to 3s lipo, and does it say anything else? Failing that, do you have a battery checker or multimeter?
  16. The HPI suspension conversion kit is also a very worthwhile upgrade out of the box as the stock hubs are made of cheese. This can be had for under
