  1. Hi all, haven't been on here in a while, but hopefully someone can help me. Looking into a brushless motor for TC. A friend has the Mtroniks G2 6.5T in his, pretty quick, but I was wondering what the KV rating of this motor is. Nothing on the Mtroniks website to tell me. I like to be able to compare things like for like. Anyone got any idea as to the KV rating of this motor? Cheers
  2. You are correct to set the idle gap when braking, but you now need to set your throttle linkages so that when you return to nuetral the servo doesn't pull the carb open.
  3. Click here to see it at Apex models. Spares will nto be a problem. Answer RC are the UK distributor and their spares backup as well as customer support / service is second to none from what I have heard. Apex will be able to get you any spare you need from Answer, should you choose the Caster of course.
  4. Either would be ok with me, but more of a fan of the buggy than the truck. It would be the SS though. Building is half the fun!
  5. I agree with Nitrocharlie. The less people sign up, the more chance I have of winning!! Although I suppose if there isn't enough support the money won't be there to provide the excellent prizes. In that case, the more the merrier. Let's have a Baja 5B on the next draw, and watch it come my way!
  6. Agreed. The 'txt talk' is very annoying. There are posts on here sometimes that ask for help and I have no idea what the person posting is actually asking for. It's just too difficult to understand. If they took 30 seconds longer to write the post properly we could all understand and help out more easily. It's just laziness. Anyway, the postman delivered some rear skid plates for the D8 and a new receiver for the ST Pro.
  7. 205 1.9Gti. Phenomenal handling, awesome performance, easily tunable and above all it was one sexy looking hatch. I had one about 8 years ago and I loved it. Had a Clio Williams, Clio 172, driven the new Astra VXR since and the 205 was so much more fun than both. No other car around could touch it for the money in it's day. The MK1 Golf started it all and was fantastic, but the 205 was streets ahead as a drivers car. Any Ford, XR2, XR31, RS Turbo are just left behind, they don't go round corners for a start. The 205 was poised, beatifully balanced, and just so much fun.
  8. Ok all, I've just bought a Hot Bodies D8 buggy and a mate and me are looking to get racing in the new year. I'm looking to spend about
  9. This is the sort of thing I was talking about......click. That's a hump pack battery and the charger, plus a new switch for the car with an inbuilt charging lead. This way you don't need to remove the battery from the car to charge it. When you get the car as standard it will have 4 AA size batteries in the car itself. These are to power the servos that control the throttle/brake and steering. You replace these AA batteries with the hump pack.
  10. +1. Vapextech are a decent place to get rechargeable batteries.

Nitro isn't as difficult as some people seem to think or make out. Once you get the basic tuning sorted and get into a cleaning and maintenance routine it all becomes easy. Welcome to the hobby, and have fun.
  12. The extras you want will be something along these lines. 1. Hump pack receiver battery and suitable carger. Better power to your servos and more run time. 2. Failsafe - must have. Stops you destroying the car or something else due to interferance or low battery. 3. Some decent tools. Hex drivers and the like. 4. Spare Glow Plugs. You'll probably blow a few of these when running in. 5. More fuel. 25% would do a good job in the Trophy. The 1 Litre in the combo will run out pretty quick. 6. Air Filter Oil, and maybe a spare filter or two. It's good to have a clean one waiting. 7. After run oil, keep the engine tip top when you're not using it for a while. I'm sure I'll think of something else, but there's a few to look into. All available from Modelsport and other on line retailers.

don't know if this would be of any help to you. I've not read it, but it seems like the sort of thing you're after. Haynes RC Car Manual
