It all depends on how you drive it. I've had mine since the beginning of the year, and so far so good. It's been bounced up kerbs, cartwheeling after jumps, and it still goes. Dave

Yes, just check the technical information when looking for a brushless Motor and ESC combo. Most say they accept 6-8 cell NiMH. I've been running both of my RC's on 4700mah and 5000mah NiMH for a few years now. I know the advantages to LiPo, but I'm happy with these. HTH Dave

I don't see how mobile phones would affect the signal. I know wireless routers run on 2.4ghz, but mine normally overrides the strength of the router. Did you buy it new? Mine behaved the same as this when i bought it. Apparently it's the radio/receiver and it's a common fault. Mine was bought from Modelsport. I sent them an email and they sent out a replacement set. No problems since. HTH Dave

As above, the cooling trays for laptops are pretty useless. I have a Compaq laptop, and I can get the CPU to 75-80c without much load. Hi. You may have jumped teeth on the servo causing it to turn, try adjusting the steering trim and see if that helps. You can adjust camber on the front and rear using a 4mm spanner (I think). The rear does have a bit of toe-in from factory to help with cornering, but this can't be adjusted I'm afraid. HTH Dave

Thanks to insanejim69 on page 151, i bought a Team Losi 22 rear wing. I currently have the rear shocks on the highest mount, so it didn't require any trimming - only 2 holes for the mount. The wing seems to be of much better quality plastic. And a lot more sturdy. Should i leave it clear or paint it white? Stickers will be applied to either. (I have some white spare from my last bodyshell). Thanks Dave

Nice little video. Your Carnage is pretty quick. Now according to MS, the vantage has a 23t pinion, and I've just double checked this with mine. So I'm thinking of buying an 18t, or would you recommend lower? I mainly use it on short grass n gravel. Thanks for your help. Dave

Evening. I currently have standard gearing and use a 3500kv brushless motor n esc. My worry is that it seems too over geared. It struggles to get anywhere neer top speed on short grass, and the motor gets very hot (not sure on exact temps atm). My question is, what pinions will fit the FTX Vantage to lower the final drive? I feel it would drive a lot better and stop the massive cogging when setting off. Dave

I have the above brushless combo in my FTX Vantage buggy, and for the price it's really impressive. Also, if your upgrading motor, you will need a battery with a capacity of at least 4000mah to get the run times to >15 minutes. (Bearings will also help this). Dave

If you turn the motor by hand you should notice the 5.5t has larger steps than the 13.5t, making it prone to the 'cogging' you have when setting off. All I would suggest is try running a 25t pinion and see if it reduces it. Dave

I use the 25T Pinion and 58T Spur atm, with my brushless it gives good balance between acceleration and top speed. Dave
