okay well i'm gonna try and give you some advice, but it depends alot on your situation...
i passed last november and i'm 17 just for reference.
1. go with your parents insurance company and get your parents to ring, online quotes are sooooo innaccurate!!!
2. i am going to uni this year so am not bothered about getting my own car, as it will just rust EVEN more while i'm away, so i share my mum's car. if you do this don't get your own policy, just be a named driver (some insurance companies give you a no-claims bonus even if you're only a named driver, some don't). Mine don't give me a no-claims, but again i'm off to uni soon and when i finish i will be 21 and get a much cheaper insurance quote anyway - so no biggy??
okay like i say, sorry if this advice can't help you in any way because it's all dependant on what people want and what their situation is, but good luck anyhooo!
I have managed to get insured on my mum's 53' plate volkswagen passat estate, with a 2.0 litre 135 bhp engine, for 1 year for.........
