  1. cracking video, having lots of fun! Any longer-term thoughts for potential buyers, has it held up well?
  2. Any long term thoughts on these? Is it the same model that’s now selling for circa £280?
  3. I wonder what the difference between the two are? Just the W rating?
  4. Only recently started using lipo batteries myself - but this is the one I use. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/skyrc-e680-ac-dc-80w-charger-440716 I can't fault it - charge, balance charge, discharge & storage mode. All very easy to use, i bought mine on ebay - but the pricing is about the same wherever you shop. May also need a charge lead to suit the battery fitting.
  5. Following for some recommendations also.. I have a seen a few I quite like; Bronco https://www.align-trex.co.uk/pro-1-10-ford-bronco-r-clear-body-short-course-g-pro3586-00.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAo-yfBhD_ARIsANr56g4tUTY5b50ux9ERGl51wqSh3iUgfsR6wKlrpCtNq6Wpl6H0AsvGOwsaAjW1EALw_wcB F-150 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/437425?gclid=Cj0KCQiAo-yfBhD_ARIsANr56g7jaYP_VSDyQEGumuZ8RUBOGBbOKFWbxQFEHnhrp0cMbP1maA5HWAkaAi98EALw_wcB Jeep Gladiator (slight modifications needed I think) https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/446046?gclid=Cj0KCQiAo-yfBhD_ARIsANr56g5Ut8uU3iTWj4DNazoUsi5SGiqO2kyFbnsg6GmJ5pBHUQKJJ-kb41MaAqs6EALw_wcB
  6. Recently picked up a TA Pro4 SC10 truck and absolutely love it. Having had to wait for a few days for the batteries and charger to turn up, I managed to get a good thrash out of it this afternoon. I’m really looking to get myself more involved in the hobby, rather than just on the local playing fields (however fun this was) Anyone know of any newbie friendly clubs or locations that I can either do some track driving or areas that are interesting to drive around? I live just outside of Beverley in East Yorkshire, but I’m happy to travel where necessary. I’ve had a few recommend Brid Boating Club - but anywhere else would be appreciated!
  7. Thank you kindly. I have already spent money on previous upgrades for the truck, so I don't mind spending a little more on it. Saves it from going to landfill, and keeps me busy. You mention the speed / KV rating required - can I install any rating, or will it need to be similar to what was previously installed? Thanks
  8. Had an accident near some water today.. sorting my kid's toys out whilst on a walk, trying to hold everything all at once. I'm not sure exactly how, but I managed to reverse my RC car into some water, totally submerging the poor thing. I disconnected everything straight away and tried to shake off as much water as possible - a few hours later nothing.🤕 It was only a cheap Haiboxing 18859e (HBX Blaster or something similar) basher type thing, but I have grown somewhat attached to it ait'sts my first RC that wasn't from Argos. Now that nothing seems to work on it, I wondered how I go about converting it to either brushless or a decent brushed motor and new electronics. Needs to be relatively cheap, and compact - the current motor measures 40x25mm
  9. It's only a few months old - everything tallies with the most recent 'General Tyres' version
  10. First 'proper' RC purchase made just now... a second hand Team Associated SC10 4x4. Appreciate all of your help, if was a tough choice between all 4 mentioned above - but the SC10 was very competitively priced. Can anyone recommend a suitable 3s battery and charger?
  11. Sorry to bombard you with constant replies... Where is your local track? A quick google search has nothing coming up in my area - so i may have to travel. Thanks
  12. Another option id not seen, so thanks. Il mostly be using it locally, in the woods, grassed areas. Maybe a trip out your way to the beach one time. I’m not too far, just outside of Beverley 👍
  13. Again, thank you for the help. I’ll do some research and keep an eye out!
  14. I appreciate the info! any idea on what the Senton Boost is? I’ve sent a link above, on one of my earlier messages. im guessing it’s a budget option for possibly people like me who may want to get into the hobby. how different does it seem to the 3s?
  15. Thank you kindly for the feedback. Maybe a silly question - what's the main difference between 2wd vs 4wd? (other than the obvious point of twice the amount of wheels being powered) 😄 Noted the points regarding quality & future support. Why the SC10 over the Arrma / Traxxas, purely personal experience or value for money? Only reason i ask is that there's a few brushed Arrma Sentons for sale - could this be a good platform to start with, and upgrade in the future over time? 4x4 https://www.applianceelectronics.co.uk/viewproduct/20456/arrma-senton-4x4-mega-slt3-short-course-truck-rtr-red-c-ara4203v3bit1 2wd https://www.applianceelectronics.co.uk/viewproduct/33063/arrma-senton-boost-4x2-550-mega-110-2wd-sc-green-c-ara4103v4t1 Thanks
  16. Morning All, First time on here, so hello. As the title says, I'm on the lookout for a new shortcourse style truck, and being a complete beginner I'm not sure where to start / where to look. My only current experience of RC is playing around with my Haiboxing 18859e, which i picked up during lockdown. I'm now eager to get my hands dirty. I really do enjoy taking things apart and upgrading / tinkering (within reason) so a good solid basis is a must. I'd rather spend a little more on a decent platform that can be upgraded, rather than buy a cheaper alternative and always want more. That being said my budget isn't crazy big , but i'm happy to wait if a better option is currently out of reach. More than happy to buy partly built trucks and learn as i go along - so second hand / spares and repairs aren't out of the question. Current questions / options 2wd or 4wd? brushed or brushless? What should be my priorities? Traxxas slash? Arrma senton? Team Associated Pro 2? FTX Zorro? (least favourite option)
