  1. To be honest some of your arguments are very good, The stuff about design and moulds and what not is well said, But the price of the baja has not really budged since day one, And design and manufacturing saving should have started to filter through by now, But fair comment. Now I have no problem in supporting a model shop, And every time I buy a car or part I am supporting that model shop, But I don't buy stuff to up anyone's profit margins, I work hard for my money like most off us hear, And I will try and get that part or car for as cheap as I can, And as you say , And No one points a gun at the head of a potential seller and demands he takes it. In the last paragraph you kind of prove me right in regards to the Baja Pricing, I notice that Rossendale are knocking the Race Runner out for
  2. To be honest I think it's all down to what they think they can get away with, You could take the clones as a good example, Lets just say for arguments sake that they all use cheaper plastics and Alloy, But they still have to go through the same general manufacturing procedure, And better plastics and better alloy is not going to account for the 400 quid price difference no matter how much you try. Now if everyone from the manufacturer to retail can make a profit on a
  3. The thing is, We're not talking about 50 or 100 quid difference, We are talking about 350-450 quid depending on what clone you get, Put that saving towards upgrades and you have a car that's as good, Or probably better than the SS, With SS Diff,Hitec servos all round,Spectrum radio(But I've found the KM 2.4Ghz Radio to be fantastic),Some Alloy upgrades, You could even throw in a 26cc SS Engine if you had to for
  4. Do you know, It's quotes like this which is one of the reasons we get what we get in this country, For years we have all gone on about Rip off Britain and how we always get screwed over,Then we start to get stuff come through the retail chain at good prices, And what do we say, We say that it is to cheap and so must be a lot of pants and a pile of old poo, So don't touch it, But we never say, At last I'm not getting ripped off and I don't have to pay them inflated prices any more. In my shed I have got a cheap old petrol strimmer I got from Argos for
  5. It's also funny how it looks a lot like and nearly has the same name as this The Mardave Marauder from 1983, But not nearly as reliable.
  6. Sorry,Started writing this at about 4pm, had to go out and just come back and finished it,but now noticed some people do agree with me.
  7. Just a question before I go to bed,how are you finding the Radio Gear,I will buy a Spectrum or something if I have to,but would rather not,The TX seems quite good but I haven't had any power through it yet so don't know what the servos or range is like.
  8. Sorry for hijacking your thread, but seemed silly to start a new one,Received my Alloy KM today and just thought I would give my initial thoughts,I've had at least 1 RC car since 83 when I got a Hornet for my 13th Birthday, and had a few since then, some good some bad,and the KM on initial inspection falls into the very good. The line "You get what you pay for"pops up a lot in this hobby, but I think that's poppy cock,The worst 1/10 car I ever had was the Tamiya Astute,1/8 was a Hot Bodies Stadium Pro,and the last time I tried Large Scale was 650 quid on a FG Marder which broke after 10 minutes and one crash, that thing was and still is an over priced badly designed pile of poo if you ask me,but you see were I'm going. The first thing I look at is the plastic, you can usually tell what it will be like from the look and the feel, and it dose look good quality,a hell of a lot better than the rubber wishbones on that old astute and the fisher price plastic they used for the Hot Bodies gear box housing. I would also say that the best option by far to go for is the alloy version, for what your extra
  9. I remember the good old days when you just emptied your tank and that was your lot, never used ARO back then, and still don't use it today, Don't think it makes a blind bit of difference to be honest, Just another one of them things that people have got in the habit of saying you must use, or your engine will fold in on itself and knock hole in the space time continuum.
  10. I know that in store These are only
  11. Nice to know,But a bit silly them not having a redirection of some sort or a notice saying that they are still trading, It only take for me to delete them from my bookmarks and I would soon forget about them and be using someone else, and so a customer lost and maybe one of many.
  12. Anyone know what has happened to them, I just get This now.
  13. Not a box, But the question of bags comes up a lot, and the one's made for Model cars seem to be a tad overpriced if you ask me, So after a bit of shopping I came up with this Mine is a bit heavy as I've got everything and he's monkeys uncle in there, But I can still throw it over the shoulder and hike to a bashing spot with no real problem, And at only 15 quid from Here you can't go wrong.
  14. Your right, If you know what you want and give yourself a price limit you can bag a bargain, I told myself no more than
  15. Just one more thing as I'm packing all me stuff away, I remembered this I know you can get them on Fleebay and all that, But I see this in Maplin the other day for
  16. Kind of feel guilty for winning now Turner Boy, Arr Well, Spent most of yesterday giving it a clean and strip down, And am pleased to say that I couldn't find one thing wrong with it, As you can see the body is passed it's best, But that really is about it. Gave it a run around the garden today just to see If the engine worked, Well it kicked into life as soon as it touched the wheel and did not miss a beat, I'll be honest and say that all my cars have been Rotostart or pull start and I have never had what you might call a top Bo***cks Engine, as I only bash so never really saw the point, But just from that small time in the garden I can see this thing is gonna be a handful and maybe a bit of a shock.
  17. Yer, I figured the servos were the wrong way round, But what I couldn't get my head around was, who has a car like that, an engine like that, servo's and all the other stuff like that, Generally a good racing setup for it's time, and then go and jam the sleeve in the wrong way round, don't get it, Well I'll give it a good clean and check over and get some clean pictures up.
  18. Well, I fancied getting myself another buggy as I have a couple of CRT's and wanted a bit of a change,So started to check out Fleebay regular to try and pick up a Losi , AE or a Hyper, Never really thought of a Kyosho until I came across A MP7.5 with this description KYOSHO INFERNO MP-7.5 YUICHI KANAI EDITION 2 VERY FAST CAR, THE BODY SHELL IS BLUE NOT GREEN WHAT'S ON THE BOX . HASN'T BEEN USED FOR 18 MONTH'S BUT I HAVE CLEANED HER UP AND TESTED IN THE GARDEN THIS WEEK END. I THINK THE CLUTCH IS SLIPPING I THINK IT WANT'S REPLACING.JUST HAVEN'T GOT THE TIME TO SORT OUT.SAD TO SEE THIS ONE GO . APART FROM THAT ENGINE RUN'S WELL.WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PIC'S COMES WITH IT. Well there were 3 pictures that were not very clear, But I took a punt, put in a max bid with one of them sniper programs, and went of to work, Well turns out I won. There was a bit of worry as he said 48 hour delivery and it took over a week, Well it turned up Monday afternoon In a biggish box, So I opened it with a kind of lucky dip feeling, To be greeted with Well for starters it wasn't clean, there was no Radio Gear, but there was a HiTec 625MG and a 645MG, The bottom is spotless apart from a couple of scratches, And the best part was a RB S7 Worlds Engine,I gave the engine the 5 times over, only to be met with a bit of a problem, He said in the advert he had tested it in the garden, which was Bull****, To start with there was no Glowplug, and why would you take it out, And then I noticed that the head bolts were loose and that it was on crooked, So of with it's head, Only to find that the sleeve had been jammed in the wrong way round. Well a hair drier and cable tie later the sleeve was out, with no damage apart from a little nick were the sleeve was pushed down on the locating pin, Pleased to say that the Piston and Sleeve are spotless with no burning, scratches or gouges of any kind, there is no slack in the conrod what so ever and loads of compression, the inside is like new, And also must not forget the AE starter box. So what did I pay for this little bundle of joy you must be asking yourselves, Well how about 132 of them English pounds "delivered" or
  19. It was late and I have now read through the whole thread, So please ignore above post. But anyone know why the Kingmotor is not coming up anymore, Even if you search for it, and they had 16 in stock this morning or last night(whichever way you look at it).
  20. Well there you go, You live and learn.
  21. Lovely car, But forgive me if I am wrong, but I was always under the impression that the SS came with the big tuned exhaust which I don't see in your pictures, If it dose not I would have to say that the SS is a wee bit overpriced.
  22. Don't know if anyone has seen This,But maybe the extra money is worth the lack of aggro.
  23. Just a quicky, I'v set up my engine to what I think is just right, Nice smoke trail when I pull away and at WOT and it just feels right, But when I slow down from giving it some welly it revs up a fair bit for a few seconds before coming back down to a nice tick over, is this normal or is there a simple reason for it.
