Hello, I haven't done 'anything RC' since I started college about a year ago, I have been too busy and ran out of money to fix up my existing cars. Now that it is summer (and my bday in a few weeks) I would like to get back into RC again and buy a new car. I currently have a Traxxas slash but it is about 3 years old and has had a lot of abuse so it is not in a brilliant condition. I have another Traxxas car which bacically needs everything replacing including electronics and a really old Nitro buggy which is bacically beyond repair. so I would like a new RC to get me back into the hobby.
What Kind of car I want:
Has to be Electric (preferably Brushless)
preferably a large car 1/8th scale or a Large 1/10th scale
It needs to be able to handle tough terrain and jumps (looking for a monster truck type car)
I will have approx. £350-400 to spend on the car with a little extra for batteries.
I allready have a lot of tools some old batteries, screws, radio sets etc. so I will not need anything extra to go with it.
Cars I have in mind:
Traxxas E-Revo (It is within budget and it is a large 4WD car, but it is not brushless. I have no idea if it is slow with brushed motors? plus I could allways upgrade to brushless later and this would be about the same price as buying the brushless one)
HPI Savage XS (Its a small car I know but it is well within budget and looks pretty fun, and I cannot quite strech to its bigger brother)
Other cars I could save up for:
Traxxas Summit
E-revo brushless
Savage Flux
HPI Truggy flux
E-Maxx Brushless
I will be running the car on a flat Dirt surface mostly with jumps that I set up. I also ocassionally take it to other places with dirt jumps etc. and sometimes on sand dunes. I may also take it to my nearest track if I get my own (real) car to drive there but I will probably not be racing just driving it for fun. (the track is astro turf btw)
Sorry for all the text but if there is any car you would reccomend please tell me, I would prefer a brushless car but would I be dissapoined with something like the brushed e-revo?? is it slower than the 3500kv Velenion on 2s Lipo which I have in my slash? or would you reccomend I save another £100-200 and get a brushless cars like the ones mentioned.
Thanks in advance.
