  1. My wife has told me the good news that she's pregnant But then gave me the double whammy of telling me I have to clear my credit card bill before the baby Is born Anyway, I am looking to sell my Baja 5B clone for
  2. I think the car is excellent value for money. If I had to purchase another Baja I would still pick the copy but either buy it direct or through another Chinese middleman just so I could get it for the £200 and save even more. It's fast enough for me even with the stock exhaust and It been flipped and crashed while jumping on numerous occassions and It still runs great. Take a look on the hpibaja forum and read all the problems people have had with the originals with bits breaking, It will happen whether you get the copy or the original though. The only problem with buying a Baja is trying to muster the will not to keep buying extra bits for It as It's an addictive hobby.
  3. BikeHK website Here is the ebay sellers website If you want to contact him off ebay. Cheaper to deal direct with King Motors though I had to clear my paypal account quick so I chose BikeHK. I hate Paypal and never recommend leaving anything in your account.
  4. If he still hasn't sent it out as him to make sure he marks the car as a GIFT and that it's $60, that way you shouldn't get hit with any import tax. I had the dreaded letter from TNT today to say It works out at £52 in total which I don't mind as It's still cheaper than buying the HPI version. So in all it cost me £387. I would also try emailing the supplier direct as It works out at £200 rougly plus EMS - much cheaper (saw this price quoted again on another thread on rcuiverse).
  5. The reason for that Is It states in the manual that there is a failsafe. Due to this being a virtual copy of the HPI manual you can understand where the error creeped in. The HPI receiver has a built in failsafe with a light on it which the clone does not.
  6. I haven't looked at the battery but I would guess It's the same rating as the stock HPI model. The charger is the USA 2 pin version so you do required an adaptor (cheap travel adaptors work). Also I can confirm that there is no fail safe with this model unlike the HPI Baja. Oh and I'm just using the normal 2 stroke oil to mix in with the regular unleaded petrol from Asda - cheap and cheerful.
  7. Here are some more photos as I've had numerous requests via ebay but with ebay they are blocking all my attempts to reply to other users as they have not purchased/sold anything with me. The Baja is holdout out well after some serious bashing (including numerous crashes & roll overs). The only thing that has broken is the plastic underguard which was ripped off when I was going full throttle through some very high wet grass. I have put a steel underguard on to replace the plastic guard. Pictures of the transmitter & servos Baja without body on
  8. I didn't ask them to mark it down. From my dealing with Hong Kong/China they all seem to know the drill and mark all the items down and class it as a gift unless requested - downside Is If the package is damaged you can only claim whatever It was valued at. I am waiting for some shop to buy these in bulk as the profit margin is very high. Then it will be interesting to see If HPI send in the lawyers as they won't have any chance for of recouping damages in China but they will in the UK. http://www.atvfactory.com/Product/ProductL...D=69&Page=1 ATVfactory are able to sell them direct for cheaper than ebay prices, plus they will sell single units. Haven't dealt with them but reading around they mailshotted a lot of the Baja dealers with the low prices.
  9. I didn't get hit with any tax whatsoever but they only mark it as a £33 gift so you would only get a small tax hit If you were very unlucky. Also make sure you make an offer as they do sell for less than £300 If buying off ebay, and remember they can also be purchased direct for roughly £250 inc. postage. The radio gear is the highly acclaimed.....POPLAR... as are the servo's. Haven't taken them apart yet but will do at a later date to see If they need the metal upgrade.
  10. If you look at rcuinverse someone has posted photos of the newer version. It explains the parts that were upgraded so I would guess those would be the ones to go for that is assuming you have version 1 of the XRC.
  11. Looks brand new after you have cleaned It, a job well done. I just wanted to make sure the part about spraying It all with WD40 is correct as I'm sure I've read on some other largescale forum not to use WD40 after cleaning. Is It best to use WD40 or not?
  12. You can always make the seller an offer lower than £299 and he will accept It, I did £280 and that went through fine. You should be able to go lower as I did see he sold one for £190. Tried the Baja out today and started straight away without even having to adjust the choke. Compared to my son's nitro (Condor Pro which Is a total pile of junk) which took ages to fire up. And on that subject I don't know how Nitrotek even sell these, the engine was totally loose with the screws almost falling out and wasn't even aligned with the gears. Compared to nitro, petrol is pure delight to run.
  13. I didn't get any request for tax but It was delivered by TNT not the usual ParcelForce who I normally have had to deal with whenever using EMS from Hong Kong. The parcel was only marked as $66 (roughly £33) and a gift so even If I do get an invoice later on It will only be for a nominal amount. I did notice in the manual It states It has a failsafe so will have to look into that when I finally get time to play around with it. I was surprised as the manual Is not in the usual chinese-english weird wording, I guess Its just a copy of the HPI manual but with King Motors on the front of the manual. I was very pleased as the manual Is good for a chinese copy plus they include everything the HPI version does inc. tools. Only thing you have to get is a adaptor for the 2 pin USA charger.
  14. Just got my Baja 5B clone today, purchased It on ebay from the same seller as Smithy on here did. Came in 4 days which I was very impressed with especially over Christmas. I am very pleased with It though I have only had the time to open the box and get It out to inspect It quickly. I chose the black version and I like the look of It. With this being an almost 100% copy I cannot see any reason to purchase the HPI model at almost double the price.
