Awesome car man, I love the look of these things, and they seem very decent for the money. Shame about your chassis but hey I guess if you're not breaking things then you're just not bashing hard enough!

You dont need to spend anywhere near 160 quid, especially if its for your kid. I would recommend a WL toys 144001. I have one and its plenty fast, but small & fairly durable, easy for a novice user. And you can pick one up for £67 on Banggood

You're welcome bud. And ah yes I can imagine that trying to find parts for older models is a bit irritating. I suppose ebay could be a good place for used parts, but it's a gamble on the condition of them. Anyway best of luck👍
