  1. Cheers pal and your wish is my command. So all electronics are hooked up and the linear actuators work flawlessly. The only thing I had to do was adjust the actuator end points so to limit their travel. Enjoy the short videos
  2. Today is the day!!!!!!!! Three items for delivery today and I can get the bed a rocking - so don't come knocking 😅 Parcel 1 - XT60 extension cable - check Parcel 2 - Flysky FS-I6S radio - check Parcel 3 - Gens Ace 2S lipo - pending delivery in the next hour Speaking of the radio, this flysky radio is a nice bit of kit and not that expensive either 👌🏻
  3. This is brill! I've always loved these rat rod style builds. Will be watching this thread for sure. Great job so far 👍🏻
  4. Custom mudflaps installed with a little help from the Tamiya King Hauler hardware. At the same time as fitting the flaps I also managed to shoehorn in a Traxxas Hauler rear bumper. No longer does it look naked from the rear 😉
  5. Will fire over a PM tomorrow with links and more details etc 👍🏻
  6. Hopefully that won't be too far away now, just need a a battery and suitable radio system to get it up and running. They're nothing too out of the ordinary. These ones are 6V and plug directly into the receiver to pull their power and functions which keeps the install tidy, combined they have the ability to push/pull up to in excess of 20kg so perfect for a loaded flatbed. The downside is they aren't cheap at £60-70 a piece. There are other options available with the most common and cheaper ones being 12v units that require separate control boards etc. Beyond that it's just a case of understanding what length/torque you require If you want more info I can drop you some links and stuff.
  7. Well they are in and the fit was tighter than a ducks a*SE but I got there in the end. Both actuators are bolted to the chassis, they now just need to be bolted to the bed via the 10x15mm aluminium angle that I have bolted to the bed. This will allow even distribution of push/pull force on the bed and it also takes some of the flex from the bed too.
  8. Cheers mate All going well I should start work on installing the actuators for the bed this weekend and get that operational real soon.
  9. The Chevy flatbed got a little addition today in the form of a 1/12 sand rail buggy. It looks quite the part and fits the flatbed nicely. Just need to get some tie down straps to secure it and for scale bonus points. Disclaimer - the buggy won't go without being customised. Work has already started on that to make it a little different from the norm 😉 Some other bits and bobs have been done to the Chevy too 👍🏻
  10. You definitely need to do that, would look pretty damn good 👍🏻
  11. No problem 👍 If you change your mind you know where I am and so you are fully aware I'm only looking for enough to cover P&P, so no more than a tenner for all 4. Have a good weekend mate 👍
  12. They're on plastic beadlocks so easy enough to split apart from the wheel 👍
  13. I've got a set of 4 tyres all brand new unused that you can have if you are interested. They are fake proline Hyrax as far as I can tell and measure 120mm in diameter. Give me a shout if your interested 👍
  14. Bump to the top. Any interest in this little truck?
  15. Roll up roll up!!! Up for sale is my customised 1/18th scale RC Chevy truck. Much tinkering has been done to far remove this from a stock truck. Customisation includes the following - Upgraded 12 gram micro steering servo Hobbywing 1060 ESC FTX wheels and tyres Scratchbuilt tipper bed with linear actuator motion. The truck is controlled by an Absima CR4S TX and R4WP micro RX. The tipper bed is controlled via channel 3 on the TX by way of an inline micro controller that connects the actuator to the receiver. The bed itself has its own power supply in the form of a Overlander Extreme 400mah 2S Lipo. The rest of the truck is powered by the stock Eazy RC 380mah 2s Lipo. A truly unique build that works well as a trail truck. The asking price includes radio gear, batteries and charger so it is ready to run. Looking for £80 posted in UK
  16. All finished and up for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested 👍
  17. Cheers buddy, I'm chuffed with outcome and something a little bit different. I've learned new skills along the way too so all good.
  18. We have power!!!!! Got the Hobbywing 1060 motor and battery wires soldered and the second battery installed to power the linear actuator. It's alive!!!! The 1060 gives far better low speed control and without the awful ESC whine of stock. The little Overlander 2S lipo powers the tipper bed effortlessly and it tucks nicely into the engine bay. Just one more thing to do then up for sale it goes.
  19. Slightly better radio, metal chassis rails and a fully licensed body makes up the cost
  20. Cheers buddy. The glacier has plastic gears but the FMS K10 gears are a direct fit if you want metal.
  21. Ok so here is the first rudimentary test of the 1/18 Chevy dump bed. I can safely report that the actuator length is just perfect. The motion is a touch fast on 7.4v 2s so I might go for a lower voltage to slow the motion down. The clever part is the micro board that allows it to be controlled via the RC has a separate power supply so I can lower the actuator voltage without affecting the main battery 👌
  22. Picked one of these up to play with over the winter Didn't take long to start fettling with it. So far mods include - RC4WD 1.0 stamped steel wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KR3 tyres Emax 12g metal gear servo Hobbywing 1060 ESC Custom built tilting dump bed Various other little visual tweaks and enhancements Next job will be to re do the wiring and fit a linear servo to make the dump bed operational and then I thinks it can be called done. Here's some photos to show where the truck is at currently
  23. Anyone got the above brushless motor for sale? Give me a shout if you do. Cheers!
  24. Little but more progress made today. Got my custom side boxes from kktruckstore so fitted the longest one that will house the battery. The smaller one will hold the ESC but I cant fit that until my fuel tank arrives as they need to be attached at the same time. Side box number one fitted. Now to wait on the fuel tank arriving so I can do the other side 👌🏻 https://www.instagram.com/reel/CkqMOx_KmPB/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
