Shoe goo works good for attaching magnets. I've made mounts using 10mm magnets, however mine are not strong enough. They're ok to hold the body itself but shell won't stay in place if you catch on obstacle. I'm planning to add one more (stronger) in the middle or change the ones I have.

@Andy-Roo , you're probably right. I've only done it to tires which have harder compound and in this case it works really good. Leather punch will be much safer indeed

This venting technique works very well :

RadioLink Rc4gs is a very good radio , not the prettiest and "biggish" but works very well, have plenty settings and gyro option. I would choose this one hands down over the gt3c (which personally I don't like)

I don't know how different is esc from VXL to XL5 but you my try to check manually to which battery , ESC is set up - lipo or ni-mh (it's an option in xl5 esc). Light indicator green or red.

Probably because you didn't change the driveshaft. Stiffening the chassis helps in this case also - (m2c center brace). Never heard anyone damaged gearbox after full mod with braces. And I'm not easy on mine, not the best driver either

Oh well...it might be the problem which mydoddy69 mentioned, you'll find out. When You will do gearbox mod, use a red or orange threatlocker on set screw (between pinion gear and drive shaft)
