  1. I swapped the standard can for a 60t straight away after watching a few vids. Ran it a couple of times then put an 80t in - the slower the better for these I think.
  2. Nope. Just a motor. 700+ gets you rolling..........
  3. Say tamiya kits average about 350, mfu about 240, semi decent radio to operate 100 and you're already looking at 700+ Inc battery. Hate to think how much I invested in mine before selling it on as I couldn't spare the time.
  4. Maybe a very light brown mist coat leaving some 'clean' arcs in the wiper areas? Looking great, never had the patience myself to try anything like this.
  5. £309 on modelsport. If I could figure how to copy the link I'd post it up! 🤔
  6. Over / under drive is also available on the Trx4 - extortionately priced options of course!
  7. Just had a look on rc10.com and this looks interesting out of the box. A factory team kit would be really good......... ?
  8. Totally put me to shame with the progress you've made.. Looking great. Any ideas what you would choose if you do get another?
  9. Think you've made more progress in 2 months than I did in 2 years lol. Almost wish I'd kept it now........
  10. That is looking great mate.Glad you've managed to figure it all out and love the colour. Looking forward to the finished article.
  11. Ooh I rather like that, certainly different to the usual Jeeps they churn out
  12. Count me in on that. Going to start looking at improving mine..... that bumper looks a good start
  13. Both very capable trucks from what I researched before buying. What tipped the balance for me was the huge choice of upgrades and accessories available for the traxxas. I keep looking at the Hpi as a second truck for my son (the trx is supposed to be mine) but the lack of kits/RTRs and spares availability alone is steering me towards a trx sport.
  14. Looks great so far, I'll be following this with interest. I've been extremely impressed with my kit so far and it's all standard........... for the moment.
  15. Got the kit just before Christmas with a view to trying to get the eldest off his ar#e and hopefully interested. Picked up a clear defender shell and gave him the choice on paint. Finally got out at the weekend and now I can't get the transmitter off him - the words 'awesome' were grunted frequently! Say what you like about traxxas business ethics but you have to admire the engineering that's gone into these - and I'm no fan boy BTW but it looks like another one will have to be acquired. Here's a couple of pics as he tackles a wall. Still needs mirrors and roof rack and lights......... some stickers...... winch, possibly. ..... some detail work....... but for now just enjoying watching the excitement and amazement it brings.
  16. It would look great next to your Arocs...........
  17. Look forward to it. Now just need a bit of time to get it sorted And yes, apologies for wandering off topic?
  18. Sounds good, count me in Just need to finish putting the last bits together and spray the shell. My lad seems keen as well so be good to see how much fun several running together can be - hopefully get him hooked!
  19. I think the idea is it stops the heat generated by the motor passing into the usually plastic mount, preventing it distorting and chewing up the spur gear. Though why they show them when mounting to aluminium beats me. I've always left it out in that scenario. Hope this helps
  20. Probably the easiest way is to buy the short to long conversion kit assuming you are then going to purchase a complete finished bodyset. This gets you damper mounts, the longer links and driveshaft.
  21. For aftermarket parts truescaletrucks.com have a dedicated american/australian section to give you some ideas what you can do.
  22. That is looking fantastic - the colour scheme you've chosen really suits it. So envious, my build came to a stop when we put our house on the market early last summer, inside the box has hardly seen the light of day since. Agree, your's needs finishing before you move
  23. That looks fantastic, love the stance. Looking forward to seeing this complete!!
  24. Others could be side lights or extra main beam. The rears do have 2 intensities so yes, when you brake they will glow brighter.
