  1. The silver arms are the after market sway bar kits. These only fit with shocks mounted on the lower trailing arms, that does not look scale or pleasing to the eye. The black arms are items I have adapted, much shorter using the same torsion bars as the after market. The front one is slightly longer than the rear, which I think is better, the rear as less room so had to be shorter. I have yet to fit the linkage rods from the sway bars to the axle. will make them when I know the final setup. Most of the MT`s ,axial at least seem to run front and rear bars
  2. New to MT`s and not long had a SMT10. Got a few upgrades and fitted Axial front and rear sway bars. These fitted great, with the shocks in the standard position. I fitted rod type upper and lower trailing arms and the shocks then mounted in a more scale position BUT the sway bars did not now fit. Bought some new sway bars from ebay which meant to fit but again did not. I have made some swat bars myself but concerned the arms are too short. Would like some opinions, the silver arms insome pics are the ebay jobs that are way to long.
  3. Need to get a steering servo for a 1/10th yeti. I will be using the model for fun mild bashing no crawling or rock work. I can not justify the £60+ servo`s. I will go upto £50 apx so can get into 20kg savox and the Power HD`s I see a lot online saying the JX servo`s from china are great value, these 20kg ones go for around £14! It will have to come from ebay and china,so not good, plus the wait. This will be ok IF they are as good as they say. for every say 5-10 raves you see a bad report. Any views guys?
  4. What does LW and LF differ in spec/build wise? WP must be waterproof but the LW is quoted as waterproof. Bit confusing.
  5. OHO, Thanks for the info, gradually getting to understand more. I have opened the kit tonight and had a quick look at the manual. When I was looking at posts about the Yeti Some said to get the kit because the elecs in it were not that great OR perhaps they meant better could be bought. The motor shown in the manual is a Vanguard 3160kv which is not far off of the 2 HW combos 3200 and 3300kv, just want to make sure these 2 will give a good speed on the flat? Is the 4000kv worth considering OR will that need 4s which I can not go to? Sorry,Lastly in some ads both esc are listed as SCT, sometimes only the 3200kv is SCT. On spec sheet said mentioned the SCT had more accelation and torque etc AND the esc are different in shape and design. Should I be looking at the SCT because I can see me longer on flat terrain with no rest bite on rocks etc?
  6. Thanks guys, what confuses me with the BL stuff is the KV in descriptions. I have seen those 2 combos to be honest. But when you get to the specs sheet it says 2s 6000kv,3s 4000kv and 4s 3000kv. Nothing like the KV listed on the main page for the combo. Can I ask, the 3660 SL 3200 KV is really close to the 3652 G2 3300kv in numbers. Why would 2 be made so similar, also is the SL and G2 significant and the meaning please?
  7. Right ,was lucky ( I hope ) to find a new yeti kit for sale ,it arrives tomorrow. I will apologise now BUT it will never get used properly, i just want it to run around "uneven terrain" I live in England! so park and heathland for me,and that fine. I could of bought a Traxass basher BUT don't like that style. I am prepared for the rolls and nose dives. So I now need to buy the esc and motor BUT have no idea on what to aim for. I do not know much being a newb. I did intend to run 2s but after some reading many seem to use 3s and 4s. I can only go 3s max. So can anyone give me a idea of KV for motor and amps for esc? Again I can not go top notch kit, I can source HW stuff easily if that's a good brand? I would like to be at the 30mph mark at last, hope that is not unreachable. Also a rough idea of pinion/s teeth wise to get, hope I do not need to change gearbox gearing? After thought, is using brushed a non option? I am sure some traxass stuff uses brushed????
  8. I have leds for reverse in the MFC 03 unit. Trouble is the mfc manual and the truck manual give different layout. one shows 4 leds in the rear cluster BUT only 3 spaces are present. I am still looking at the options I have and should go with.
  9. Ah fog, course. there is 2 per side so what else?
  10. On the Scania R620 I am building the truck manual and MFC manual show aux lights at the front and rear. The front aux lights are shown in the lower front bumper area and the rear light cluster, What are these aux lights? what are the classed/used for? I am new to trucks Also brake lights, what happens when the tail lights are turned on? is there 2 intensities? Quote Edit
  11. Just about to order a Grand hauler and might as well get the MFC 01 straight away. I have not long bought a Scania R620 and MFC 03, got the MFC working as best I can before the proper install with my Spektrum/JR DSX9 radio and spectrum rx i have read that the MFC 01 is not as good as the 03,its much older. It what way is it not as good? will it work with DSX9? I know having analogue trims is always in debate. Quote Edit
  12. Building a Scania and not 100% sure on linkage. The linkage rod connects at the gearbox end to a ball and collar. This ball and collar slides onto the shift rod and held in position by a set screw. I do not know if I should slide this right up to the circlip towards gearbox? Or is it for fine tuning? Help would be great.
  13. Very new to the hobby. See a link on the forum about accessories . Hurcules does a lot for my truck R620 BUT do the parts always fit??? don't want to but a few bits to find several don't fit. Is there a company to look for regards good fitment ? Likewise any that are troublesome?
  14. Is it safe to run digital servo`s with the Tamiya MFC 03 unit?
  15. My LHS, Well nearest HS does not do much RC car/truck stuff. I bought the Scania R620,MFC unit and 7.2v 5000mah bat pack. Wanted to look into radio gear, he recommended Carson gear ,6 channel radio set but not in stock! When I asked about servo`s he said just go with bog standard carson or Futaba 148 standard,he said you need no more than that. The price of servo`s is fairly low for metal gear digital ,with good torque. What should I be looking at? Also will the Tamiya MFC unit be ok with digital servos with high torque given its a all in one unit, dont want to blow any thing. Also other than bearing kit and higher turn motor is there anything I should do on the initial build? not talking cosmetic Thanks
