  1. Saw that while I was there. The oval was too small for the big bores, they were barely getting going before having to brake again.
  2. Get a losi Baja Rey or similar! I race 1/8th and 1/10th electric and the Baja Rey is for bashing. It can run at speed over terrain I'd never take a buggy over. Speedwise on 3s it's pretty similar to a 4s powered 8th scale buggy. Just my 2p obviously l, don't get me wrong, most 8th scale buggies will bash well but.its not their forte, something like the Baja Rey/traxxas slash etc are literally built from the ground up for high speed bashing. Whichever way you go you'll have fun though.
  3. I know you weren't keen on trailing arms/locked rear diff but I would seriously consider a Baja Rey. I absolutely adore mine and on 3s it's challenging a 4s powered 1/8th e-buggy on speed and power. That long travel suspension enables it to run over far rougher terrain too. I believe you can actually buy diff internals and have a working rear diff if you don't get on with the locked one.
  4. My new Hobbywing Xerun 7.5 turn motor/esc combo for my losi 22.
  5. A couple of rc cars for my kids so they don't keep nicking my tlr 22 in between races! LOL
  6. Yes! Found it on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0nSl1LWieU
  7. Anyone remember that video Tamiya made? Mudbusters I think it was called?
  8. replaced an exploded inner propshaft bearing on my losi baja rey. Turns out its the exact same bearing one of my helis uses so I have loads of them going spare! Also yesterday I race in 1/10th off road for the first time since 1995! It was fun, I sucked balls but it was mega fun and I can't wait to get there again!
  9. Ballistic buggies green mini spikes and MRT transponder so I can pretend just know what I'm doing on Sunday!
  10. This is aimed squarely at the Axial Yeti Score. It has a similar scale 4 link solid rear axle. Both the Baja Rey and the Yeti Score have masses more suspension travel than the usual short course truck and they handle large bumps much better. My Baja Rey can run at hight speed on stuff my traxxas slayer couldn't get going on! They're also very big, bigger than my xray 1/8th rallycross buggy, faster too on 3s lipo and the Baja Rey is massively strong as I prove every time I take it out! Lol
  11. Cool video, it looked really graceful sliding about in slo-mo!
  12. Cool video, it looked really graceful sliding about in slo-mo!
  13. im using some 1/8th rallycross wheels on my slayer and they are a massive improvement over the stock scale wheels. They don't look as "right" but they definitely improve how it handles.
  14. Cleaning my Baja Rey, modifying the battery cage to fit these gigantic graphene batteries in. Sorting out my newly acquired TLR 22 ready for its first outing. Calibrating the esc, making up charge leads and glued on the front tyres Finally I bought a cheap box to put all the rc car bits in one place. Really looking forward to getting on an off road track for the first time since the mid-90's!
  15. I'm not too sure, theoretically any android smartwatch should work with any android phone. I use it with a sony z5 so it integrates with it very well.
  16. I am ex-RAF myself (12 years) and used to be posted to RAF Benson which is near where I was flying. The thing with a heli is they are flown by line of sight and generally much lower than folks who fly multirotors. They tend to be flying much high and with a camera on board, it would be a pointless exercise to put a camera on my heli! LOL
  17. I've been using one for the last year or so. Really like it and it works great, the nav works pretty well. You can start nav going on your phone and then open it on the watch, or you can view a more basic version on the watch itself. You need to factory reset the watch if you change phones though and you can't take a call through it like you can with some of the others. It's fully waterproof which is a bigger bonus than you'd think, it goes for 2-3 days on a charge and takes 1/2 to fully charge again just using any micro usb phone charger.
  18. So far it has been nothing short of epic! I went for the Baja Rey as 99% of reviews i'd read stated it outperformed the Yeti Score. It's as tough as old boots, damping and spring rates work really well, very powerful on a 3s lipo and the AVC is a work of genius when on frozen dirt! The only things i'm not keen on is you get dirty hands changing batteries as they are loaded through a hatch in the rear and it's also a pain to clean as the roll cage is bolted to the chassis and the body is a 4 piece jobby that is bolted to the roll cage. Also the stock spektrum steering servo is very slow, get a faster one in there but make sure it's digital! All in though it's a fantastic bit of kit, it whips my traxxas slayer everywhere on any surface and it looks great. I'll get my mobius charged up and get some vids up soon!
  19. Wife was out, not at work until midday so as soon as i'd dropped the kids off at school it was time to throw everything in the car and head off! I usually fly at an rc helicopter flying club but where I take my cars there is a huge field so thought it would be rude to not bring the heli too!! So queue a morning of fly-drive-fly-drive-fly-drive!!! I loved the fact I could land my heli and then head straight off with the baja rey, that was probably the best rc session i've ever had! Some of the dirt that fell out the baja rey! I think a cleaning session is needed now! LOL
  20. They need to re-release the Astute! RRCI magazine did a comp to win one in the mid-late 90's and I wanted it sooooooo bad! LOL
  21. Today I have been fitting the new savox steering servo to my losi Baja Rey, fitting a new spektrum AVC receiver and 17mm hex hub kit to my traxxas slayer then set both models up on my new spektrum dx4s!
  22. Today I have mostly loading up my credit card so I can go racing...well...turn up as "that idiot with all the gear and no idea" at least! LOL I am also cleaning my Losi Baja Rey, great truck, pain in the bum to clean though! LOL
  23. Hello mate. Is this for sale? If so, how much posted with lipos? Thanks Gary
