  1. If you need anything while in town, I can highly recommend the team at Central London Models, on Queenstown Road, in Battersea.
  2. Where about in London are you? There is the track in Crystal Palace... In what way are you having a nightmare time? I would suggest you get yourself somewhere with a wide open space to run the car with nothing to get in its way, allowing you to get used to how to handle it, before opening it full throttle in an more confined space. Did the shop get the car retuned and running again, what had happened?
  3. It does have an expiry as I'm moving away from the area soon, so had to spend it! Went with a few aluminum upgrades and a carry bag.
  4. ...what do you get!? I have a new exsahust, bodyshell is good...how do I spend £50 voucher at my local store? Lots of smaller aluminum parts, wheels/tyres, a coloured heatsink..what to do...? I'm a big fan of asthetic, but any simple performance suggestins welcome. Car is a Nanda NRB-5 buggy. Advice & thoughts please.
  5. Pretty much fixed it. Took gearbox apart, changed brake discs and realigned it all. Seemed to do the job! I'm running mine now, orignal starter set up still working, its a great truck, could do with a bigger engine I feel, but I'm pretty sure if I change the engine then the starter will be redundant!
  6. I thoroughly enjoy my Nanda buggy, its been a great return to a nitro after a very long time off. Would happily recommend it.
  7. I'm going to use this as a bench mark for modding my buggy until it's a monster truck! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Will check them out! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  9. I got a brand new buggy recently, the Nanda NRB-5 its awesome, I really like it, but for some reason I keep going back to my 15 year old monster truck! As a new buggy owner, I'd happily recommend The Nanda NRB-5, I had an on-road previously and versatility of a buggy/truck vs an on-road is massive, and worth getting instead.
  10. Do they tend to get much better stuff we don't get over here. or is it just pricing that's main factor?
  11. *Sorry - meant to post in General RC, please feel free to move if needed, can't work out how to do so.
  12. I've noticed a few people mention buying stuff from US sites, anyone got any sites in particular they recommend? Cheers
  13. I've just got the NRB 5, its been great so far, would happily recommend it!
  14. Had one about a month now, not managed to use it a massive amount, but its been solid, handles well, fun to drive. For the price as a 1/8 buggy it seems great to me!
  15. Looking to replace my engine in my Tamiya Terra Crusher with Savage xl 5.9 engine Anyone able to advise if it's going to fit and how easy it'll be to make that happen? Thanks
  16. today the postie bought me this (via my local model shop)
  17. I recently had a similar thing, got my old nitro out the loft form the same era, and with guidance from the guys here have got it up and running again. It seemed that sitting in the loft for a long time has had no ill effect!
  18. I'd assumed that maybe the case. Never mind, plenty of other things to work on with it for it to get running properly! Thanks for the advice all!
  19. Makes sense. Know if there's any performance related benefit to rear v side? I'm kind of torn, because I think the side looks better, but the rear is certainly less hassle! My other RC has a side pipe and it does make a mess of that part of the body.
  20. It became the norm a not long after mine I think, mine is about 20 years old! The rear exhaust was as standard, is it possible to convert it to a side pipe? Mine is the same as this one with the exhaust at the back.
  21. Hi all My antique Kyosho Superten is finally, now up and running, but I would like to start modding it a bit. First thing I would like to do is change the exhaust, it currently comes straight out the back of the car with a rubber exhaust deflector. Is it possible to convert this to a side exhaust, and what are the pros and cons to each?! Thanks for your ongoing help!
  22. Thanks both. I think you maybe right, its a nature of the engine. When it was released Tamiya were all up in arms about what they called a FRAT engine, Foward and Reverse Automatic Transmission. " 2-Speed Automatic Transmission Many features of the Terra Crusher give this machine superiority over its rivals. One feature that needs particular highlighting is the Terra Crusher's 2-speed FRAT(forward and reverse automatic transmission). FRAT enables the Terra Crusher to adjust to a variety of terrain by switching to low and high gears when needed to effectively maximize control. FRAT also realizes smooth, controlled reverse driving!" I think part of this 'smooth' process must be something to do with the gears engaging and disengaging to get things moving. Its only got one throttle servo, the single trigger does forward/reverse/brake seamlessly (in theory!). I'll have a look at the set up, see if there is any movement where there shouldn't be, I've found the manual just now, so going to use that to reset it all back to scratch!
  23. Gotcha, nope, no channel 3. Whole thing is run off the single trigger on the controller. Forward, brake in middle and then reverse. Its worth me buying a better controller I'm guessing?
  24. forgive my ignorance...channel 3? I'm using the controller it came with, Tamiya adspec GP. Forward is obviously forward, middle/neutral on the trigger is brake and then pulling back on the trigger is reverse, is pulling it back channel 3? Also, what is EPA! Sorry for total ignorance, I only had the cars before, I knew nothing! Now I want to properly get into it, and get these cars performing to the max! Thanks for the help/patience with a newbie!
