  1. I am on the notification email, but being an impatient person I wanted one sooner The last time I wanted something that was "On Order with Supplier" it came in 3 months after the estimated time. Thanks for the link and answering though.
  2. That's definitely the cable I am missing. I did read somewhere though, that it's set up like that because it needs to draw power from the battery directly, to get full power to the unit to make it work. If it's connected to the receiver it suffers from the ESC and it's built in BEC drawing power, so not so much going to the light unit. Many thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it. Let me know how you get on .url
  3. Hi, I have just bought a used TT-01E Subaru Impreza WRC 2008 with a TLU-01 Light unit that is missing the harness lead that plugs into the "BATT" socket and connects to the battery. I thought that I could make up my own lead. I have wire and Tamiya plugs, and I thought I could use the jst plug from one of the spare led's I have, but it won't fit in the socket. I am struggling to find the correct plug. If anyone can advise me how to solve this problem I would be really grateful. Many Thanks Derek
  4. Thanks Stretch. I've done this but unfortunately l get bad back ache when I crouch down for the low shots. Using the selfie stick extended right out enables me to stay upright and pain free
  5. Hello mate, I wanted to try the selfie stick, extended right out, so I didn't have to crouch down for the low angle shots. Being of a more mature age l suffer from excruciating back pain if I bend or crouch for too long. In this video l was upright all the time and came home pain free
  6. My first attempt at one handed driving & steering, and filming with an action camera & selfie stick with the other hand
  7. Can't get a better recommendation than that. Nice one
  8. Thanks .A.J. I saw this at my local Toolstation but wasn't sure if it was suitable. I will give it a try
  9. This reminds me of Michael Bentine's Potty Time (if anyone is old enough to remember it) Best kids TV programme I watched in the 70's
  10. Can anyone recommend a good flux for soldering wires and connectors, and where to get it. Thanks
  11. Hi, I would like the 48w Soldering Station, Mr.Jig and Solder please. Hopefully it will help improve my soldering skills cos they're pants
  12. Also, if you have the "windows paint" program you can resize photos by percent values. I tend to resize (downsize) them by 50%, so if I have one thats 5312 x 2988 pixels 5.4MB and reduce it by 50% it becomes 2656 x 1494 pixels 1.73MB. This makes a smaller file and when uploaded is still big enough to view. Then you can upload more photos if there is an MB limit.
  13. I had this problem a while ago and deleted a video I'd put up in an old post. This seemed to free up some space. Maybe worth a try. I don't use "hosts" for photos either, I just drag and drop photos from my pc these days with no issues, so far.
  14. @stretch & @collective itch Thanks for all your help and advice. I have decided to go for a new brushless combo set up, and get a lipo. Time to stop flapping around and get this sorted.
  15. I don't know to be honest. It didn't come with instructions, but I don't use lipo's so must admit that I didn't even think of that. It came brand new in a plastic bag. I just plugged everything in and the throttle worked in fwd-brk-rev straight away so I assumed it was automatic set up. I guess it's just a generic chinese esc that could be set up like many others. I have instructions for a Tamiya TBLE-02S esc. Maybe I could follow those and see what happens.
  16. The battery is really old. I got it with an old Wraith I bought. It has a deans connector and I'm using a deans to tamiya adapter. The other battery I used has a Tamiya connector. The transmission is fine. I opened it up to check for grease and wear when I got it, and everything moves smoothly. I did replace the spur gear with a new one. The bearings aren't perfect, but they're not past it yet.
  17. Hi, I recently got an old HPI E Firestorm 10t in great condition, included in a bunde deal, which I have a problem with. I have put in a brand new HPI Firebolt 15t Motor (it had a HPI Saturn 27t in it), 19T pinion, a Step Up SU-00186 12T Brushed ESC (Brand new old stock via CML) and I'm using a Flysky FS GT3C Transmitter and receiver and a fully charged 4300mah nimh HPI Plasma battery, which is old but still reaches 4020 capacity when charged. I turn it on, and for maybe 5-10 seconds it runs beautifully. Then it cuts out. The esc emits 2 beeps-pause-2 beeps-pause--2 beeps-pause--2 beeps.. Then it will run again for another 5-10 seconds. It did this 4 times when running, then I got a 3 minute(ish) run with no problems. Then it did it a couple of times again. When I picked it up I could feel the heat from the battery through the bottom of the chassis. Not burning hot, but too hot for a 4 minute(ish) run. I have tried a brand new 1400mah Carisma nimh battery, which came with a RTR I got recently, and the same thing happened immediately. I took it out straight away before it got hot. (I know, I know.... nimh, aaggghhh. lol. I don't have lipos yet I apologise if this is a bit long winded, but I wanted to give as much info as poss. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
  18. Hi, Could anyone tell me if the front diff gearbox in the FTX Hooligan Brushless RTR is the same in the Vantage & Carnage. Thanks
  19. You could try Ebay for vintage Tamiya Frogs. They share the same chassis. The body mounts are obviously different but other parts could be used if you want to stick to strictly vintage. They regularly come up for auction.
  20. @TMaxxDave Sorry mate, only just seen this. Thanks for the tip
  21. I got this on Ebay recently. Taiyo Edge Freestyle BMX. Toy grade but working and fun. The figure is 12 inches tall and the BMX is 12 inches long.
  22. @XV Pilot Yes and it runs very well now. The motor still gets hot, but not as much as before, but it handles and looks much better with the new smaller shocks.
