  1. Used it Now need to look at the brakes as one of the springs i used to hold the pads apart has broke and get wedged into the brakes themselves making them bind horribly. Had to cut short my run as a result although it is an easy fix i didnt have the tools to do it in the field as it were.
  2. If you were thinking of going that route I would just buy the whole engine with everything on it if it was me. Long block is okay and you could reuse some of the bits you have already but it is a complete engine and you could keep the bits off your old one as spares.
  3. With the socket on the end of the crank shaft there is no reason for the thread to get damaged, mine came off with a very light tap with a rubber mallet. Given how many of these things must be turned out in the factory I cant see there being and awful lot of care given in their manufacture so I don't see how one small tap with a hammer is that big of a deal. Maybe I would think twice about hitting a £400+ engine but I wouldn't be so concerned with a single tap on a stock motor.
  4. You don't need a flywheel puller,I took my 26cc CY apart with out one. I did a search on Youtube and found a series of videos that covered disassembly and reassembly if I remember correctly. If the bottom end is undamaged you could just get a new head and piston but looking at that gouge in the piston/head I wonder where what did that has ended up in the engine Part one of the video series. In part two they use a flywheel puller but I found another video online that shows how to remove it without one.
  5. I am not saying people here don't have any imagination (and I include myself in that) but if you look at some of the stuff on the Tamiyaclub website, there is some good builds/modifications on there. I think people are less interested in making something unique in the true sense and like what has been said already they try to achieve some "uniqueness" by fitting as many bits and pieces as possible rather than building something unique.
  6. I think forums in general have had their day a bit with the likes of Facebook around these days. People can keep in touch with friends and visit pages related to their interests all in one place with no effort needed on their part,it is all there in front of them. A lot of forums seem to be dying a death,to me at least.
  7. What car were you thinking of buying then?
  8. Not surprised. I bought a laptop from Scan the one time that just wouldn't turn off. I persisted with it for days, reinstalling the OS and playing with settings etc but I could only get it to stay off by effectively forcing it to power down/crash by holding the power button down till it went off, anything else and it just kept turning back on again. They messed me around but I persisted and they did eventually take it back and I got a refund. I would just phone them up if I were you, emails etc are easy to ignore. If they have a Facebook/Twitter page I would comment on there as well,a lot of companies act quicker to sort problems if they see negative comments appearing on their social networking pages
  9. But can they prove the scratch has caused the fault? If they cant then I don't see how they can reject the claim on that basis. Lets face it if the phone was 10 months old it is unlikely to be totally free of any marks but would a repair/replacement be rejected purely cause of that,I seriously doubt it. Sounds to me like they are hoping you will just forget and go away so they don't have to do anything. Who is the seller exactly?

  11. You can have it for the cost of postage if you want it still. Probably £3-£4 at a guess. I couldn't send it till Monday now though at work right now and all day tomorrow. Drop me a PM if you are interested and we can go from there.
  12. I have a complete 668 carb if that is any good to you. Cant vouch if the whole thing is working but it has the bit on you are on about if that helps.
  13. Cant see a picture,maybe it's just my end?
  14. Well I had to work for it a bit They had been used at work for demos and website access for customers but since we have been taken over everything like that is being taken out. I was tasked with removing a display of doors and there was an Ipad as part of the display,it was in a locked compartment which no one had keys for, store manager said if I could get it out I could keep it It had been messed with by customers and basically it had power but was locked up totally and unresponsive. I removed the display doors and then took a sledgehammer to the unit holding the Ipad in,managed to break it enough so I could get the Ipad out. Took it home and connected it up,it took several attempts to reinstall the OS as it kept coming up with an error in itunes but several goes later and some messing around I got it going It is in very condition with not a mark on it as it has been in a unit for 2 years or more since new. It has no warranty on it so a bit of a gamble in terms of long term reliability but most of the time it has been on display it hadn't worked anyway so has had next to no use. I was going to sell it but the other half starts university in a month or so so said she could have it as she was thinking of buying one anyway. I got a case for it from Argos today as well for £1.49 so total cost of a Ipad Air with a case.........£1.49 and a bit of time and effort on my part. Chuffed to say the least

  16. Didnt get anything,do you want to put your email address on and I will see if I can send you one?
  17. Turn down the steering rate, page 10 of the instructions. This will reduce the steering travel that might help. The steering is probably going to far and that combined with the loose fit of the shafts is allowing them to drop out. You could get CVDs that would fix the problem completely http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-bullet-3.0-cvd-shaft-set/rc-car-products/36862
  18. I assume you mean when you are driving away from yourself rather than towards yourself?
  19. Seen Flysky ones before and they are okay but very cheap, quality is a bit hit and miss sometimes. One I have seen before had a lot of "bits" of plastic or something trapped behind the display, person managed to get most of it out but a couple of bits didn't want to budge and taking it apart if you are not sure how it comes apart and goes back together is a bit fraught!
  20. Ebay as a whole is garbage now. They want their cut and that's all now,no help whatsoever when it comes to dealing with problems such as these, you report a listing and 9/10 nothing happens.
  21. Tried to send a PM but says you cant receive them?
  22. I have sent PP and ebay pictures/videos of items that were "faulty" being fully working before postage and after I have received them back and they have never been interested in my opinion, they have just refunded the seller without ever justifying to me why they have done it.
  23. Even if someone accepts it the seller doesn't have to know that. Open a case for item not received or open the item and find it "damaged" and raise a case. I can pretty much guarantee ebay will side with the buyer (you) and will issue a refund even if it takes a while for you to get it. Sadly I have been on the receiving end of this on ebay many a time, they listen to the buyer and not the seller,I have had "faulty" items returned that have been perfectly fine and I have sold them again for the next buyer to be completely happy with it.
