  1. Am i missing somthing has original rock crawling 2.2 style a thing of the past now. is scale crawling the thing now? was looking on ebay and there is nothing other than the odd losi or hpi crawler. where are all the axial ax10s and tuber based crawlers and .2.2 crawler tyres and bead lock rims gone? is 2.2 rock crawling still even competative in the uk? whats going on can some one fill me in. i no there is the "rock racing" thing but what has happened to the good old slow and steady good old crawling.
  2. welcome back to the world of rc. factory settings are generly high speed needle and low speed needles are set flush with the carb body. when you turn the controller and reciver on take the air filter off the carb should be open about 1mm. make shore you have a good glow plug and and a fully charged egniter to start with. bad plug or flat egniter is usually the reason a nitro engine is hard to start or wonte start leading to a flooded engine. from the base settings the car should start after a few pulls or turns with a roto start when the car has started let it idle for a few mins to warm it up. run the car around a little and ajust the high speed needle at the top of the car 1/8 turn keep doing that till its running well with some blue smoke if its over ajusted it will cut out to lean back it off 1/8th turn to ritchen the mix. when you are happy with that then go for the low speed needle at the side of the carb ajust that 1/8th turn till it picks up on acceloration again if it cuts out you need to go back 1/8th turn to richen the mix ajust till you are happy if the mix is to rich and bogs down on acceloration you need to lean the mix 1/8 turn. aslong as you have some blue smoke your engine will be fine if there is no smoke or very faint you need to ritchen the high speen needle a bit. when your happy its running ok then ajust the idle needle usually same side as high speed needle under the carb ajust that to lower the revs or raise the revs lowering the idle should stop the car moving when its stationary but high enough not to stall the engine. if the car is buggering off down the road it could be the idle needle is set to high or need to ajust the throttle trim or carb to about 0.9 - 1mm hope that makes sence and helps a bit but make shore the engine is warm befor any tuning..

  4. ill give me buddy a text in the morning see if he has any wheels and 3sp tranny kicking about he hords broken savages. daz could be rite the 2sp gear box mite house 3sp gears got me stumped now
  5. hey all any one near or around yeovil up for some bashing?
  6. you are better off just buying a hole new gear box, spare gears are always handy i used to strip gears in the trannys on my savages for a past time. in my personal opinion the 2 speed trannys are better. time you hit 3rd gear you nearly out of space even ajusting the gears for a shorter change. i will ask me mate if he has a 3 speed tranny in his big box of savage bits if you cant find any thing.

  10. Full strip down re-grease re-oil repair and rebuild my bullet 3.0 and orderd some proline paddle tires for a bit of rc formula off road style bashing at me local quarry next weekend
  11. thanks for the replys i will try what you have all said when me new parts arive i was thinking about teh e-firestorm dog bones being 2mm longer weather they would do the job as every ware seems to not have any stock of the cvd's same as no one seems to stock the the 3mm steering nut 101226 to go with the steering knuckles so i have bought integy steering knuckles. fingers crossed bit of fuel pipe either end of the dog bones, bump stops on the shocks and turning down the steering will cure it. dont really fancy the conciquences of the missis if i need to order longer shafts lol
