  1. Went and had a bit of a run in a localish wooded area, crawling heaven There are some steep slippery bits that are a good test, spend a good chunk of time rolling back down rather than going up.
  2. Looking at the picture you put up of them you can see the edges look pretty rough.
  3. Cause they are a German company maybe? No one is denying that some FG cars are okay and have proven themselves in competitions but equally these wouldn't have been totally stock cars. Yes everyone adds hop-ups etc to get rid of weak areas but the Marder has so many you may as well just start from fresh! I first time I ran mine the cage cracked, the body broke into numerous pieces, the wing mount broke, the shocks were virtually useless, the engine mount cracked and that wasn't doing anything other than trying to drive it with the odd roll caused by the terrible suspension.
  4. I have owned just about every large scale RC going over the years. EVERY time I ran a FG something would break just by using it,in comparison the HPI BAJA took it all without any breakages in the same places doing the same stuff. FGs are cheap and nasty cars, they are okay to begin with but there is much better out there.
  5. Marders break when you just look at them, far too fragile compared to what is about these days. It is a pretty dated design that has been around for ages,FG would be better off starting again now and coming up with something a bit more up to date and less fragile!
  6. Not filled in the literate sense, just added more than the very thin lick that was already on the gears.
  7. Had both axles apart already and filled them up with grease, didn't have any marine grease but still filled them up with what I had so hopefully that will help if it finds itself in any water
  8. Ended up getting one of these delivered today, was toying with the idea of various things but this is pretty much go anywhere I did change the steering rods straight out of the box to get rid of the stock plastic bendy ones,I will make some metal suspension links myself in time. First go in the house was interesting to say the least, there appeared to be next to no drive,I thought the slipper was too loose so cranked it right down but it was even worse! A closer look showed it was the pinion that was loose on the motor shaft, bit of stripping down needed and it was all sorted. It is a bit of an odd choice of motor for a crawler though,a 27T can,I can almost get a wheelie going from a standing start on carpet with it running on 2S I would have preferred to build rather than get a RTR but for £229 RTR as opposed to about £250 for the kit it was a no brainer. Just need some slightly better weather to give it a proper run now.
  9. Bought various lipos including Overlander,Zippy,Turnigy to name but a few and never had problems with any of them.
  10. Noticed the price rise of the Summit, was looking at maybe getting one,not now, second hand are very thin on the ground as well. Pretty much everything Traxxas looks like it has gone up,wont be buying anything of theirs any time soon now
  11. Looks like the Kyosho Land Jump series.
  12. Needs to be the Optima Mid for me to be interested although if they re-released the Turbo Rocky I might be tempted
  13. Would you meet up within a certain distance? I near Kidderminster/Stourport.

    Traxxas X-Maxx.

They are listed but very few if any usable spares available to actually buy.

I wouldn't cancel. If the ESC/motor goes up in smoke that should be covered from what others have said, only thing that might concern me slightly is what the spares availability will be like from the outset. Might be worth buying one to break for spares

I think it is too big for it's own good! People will treat it the same way they do every other RC car without taking it's weight or size into account and that will lead to breakages, simple as that. I wouldn't buy one and expect to drive it at a pace suited to it's size and weight, who would, people will just go flat out wherever they can and will suffer breakages as a result and then complain! If you can afford to buy it you can afford to fix it,well that should be the case anyway, you don't save all your £s to buy the most expensive 1:1 car you can and then leave it on the drive cause you cant afford to use it,do you
  17. I would be certain it is genuine, there are fakes/copies of the Align 450 around.
  18. Just bear in mind that anyone who sells a particular item over another is bound to say the one they sell is better
  19. This is for the Hyper 7 but the basics are the same. Look in your instructions to determine which needles are which though if you are not sure.
  20. I assume you are accelerating somewhat there,if not then you need to do some adjusting.
  21. It happens,I have dipped in and out of RC stuff for the best part of 30 years! Looking to get back into it again but nothing really takes my fancy may have to wait another few years at this rate
  22. Most are made with the Gopro series in mind though https://www.firstpersonview.co.uk/handheld-gimbals/feiyutech

Misunderstanding there I mean taking into account the thing weighs a lot and probably cant be treated the same way as a smaller buggy, thats what I mean by scale
