  1. I'll keep an eye open for suitable spots, I live by the power station. I'm guessing we want some rough ground preferably with something resembling a jump or two?
  2. I've had the whole thing apart now - when i screw the main input gear back on it gets tighter. I'm thinking if I add a thin gasket under this it'll put less pressure on the internals. Thanks for your input!
  3. Thanks! The car is maybe 6 weeks old- I had problems with the front dogbones falling out constantly, I added more o rings in the diff cups. I'm wondering if the increased pressure has squashed the diff internals slightly... First time I've ever opened the diff was tonight.
  4. Hi all! Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing a diff to "cog"? I've got the shaft drive HPI falken porsche, and the front diff is noticeably notchy. It seems to run ok, but the front is a lot stiffer than the rear - I bravely took it apart tonight - not a complete strip down, I just took off the main gear so I could see if there was anything obviously wrong inside. Nothing, no dead teeth or foreign objects... just lovely smelling grease and free running internal gears. Having reassembled it it's now worse than before! If I hold one of the cups the dogbones sit in and turn the other, there is quite a bit of resistance before it clunks over - has anyone had one of these apart before? Cheers chaps!
  5. Took the ftx vantage out of my bag and took the falken Porsche to work instead, and slapped my first ever 3s lipo in it. JOY!! Unfortunately the car park is so bumpy that anything above half throttle was out of the question...
  6. I've got three of these, 2s 6200 - my first lipos and they've been great.
  7. Check the specs for the particular car- some of the models have the motor and electronics mounted the other way round to normal, to put more weight over the front wheels.
  8. Cool! Not tried any 3s yet, strapped my phone to the back of mine and the gps speedo recorded 39.8mph...
  9. What kind of parts have been breaking? I've had mine about a week and so far I've driven it through sheep poo, rolled it, cartwheeled it at top speed, driven it into huge puddles, rocks and my girlfriend (!) and so far nothing has broken...
  10. Hi everyone! Never had any RC stuff when I was a kid, now I'm a balding 40 year old bloke with kids I've finally got going.. I sell model railways for a living, when work started importing some RC stuff I took the plunge- I've now got a boat, two drones, a ninco nitro megane, hpi falken Porsche and ftx vantage, all stock so far but great fun. I model US outline HO scale, a bit of European HO scale and the odd bit of OO scale too. I've got somewhere near 200 slot cars as well, and a 1:22.5 garden railway too. And many playstations, I play elder scrolls, destiny and project cars. One can never have too many toys...
  11. Hi all- I've bought a vantage as a holiday buggy and managed to kill a lipo with it.. The only internet access I have is a rubbish gprs signal on my phone so looking for instructions has proved painful... Does anyone know if the low voltage cutoff can be programmed using the setup button on the switch or can it only be done with a programming card? Cheers chaps
  12. Bit of an update... Bashing in the work car park and a similar one in Wales, the front right drive shaft pops out at the slightest provocation- I've ended up with two o rings in the diff side and one in the wheel itself. Predictably the left front started popping out instead.. That now has 2 o rings fitted and the shafts stay put. This has also solved the other problem I was having, the car would immediately spin under braking no matter how gentle.
  13. I've got the falken Porsche bodied rs4 sport 3 flux, my first half decent car about 2 weeks ago. Running 7.4v 6200mah lipos, it's pretty quick. The only issue so far has been the little red o rings in the drive shaft socket in the front diff. First decent bash in the work car park one managed to pop out. Ordered more, I fitted 2 in the socket as there is a lot of sideways play in the little drive shaft. Today the short drive shaft popped out, luckily I managed to find it! So far it's the only issue I've had with what seems a decent bit of kit.
