  1. Nice to see you went with the sensible approach and skipped all the skid plates that have intricate machining for looks, when they only get scratched to ****!
  2. Other brands and shops are available (as much as I like freeprawn) such as the rcmodelz one that I use in all 3 of my cars.
  3. Fitted some new foam and front bumper this evening, plus some longer front wheel axles and wider squares to fill out the front arches better. I recon it sits pretty good now and has front body clearance.
  4. I don't have to press them in, got phat dad shafts so it's just a grub screw. Thanks for the offer though!
  5. Fingers crossed it last for the couple of hours i have at greenfields on Sunday morning. I can't be bothered to tear into it and replace another pin at the moment.
  6. Is there any other solution to booting the front centre diff cup and driveshaft drive pin to reduce wear, other than fitting the modified rc disks? I don't really want to layout the cash at the moment but i'm halfway through a pin after a single outing. Also my usual stockists are out of the disks, even if i wanted to buy them.
  7. I'm on the home straight now. Shell is fully assembled, air holes cut in the front screen and a rear hole cut for access to the pull start. I need to raise the front lip of the shell for ground clearance and seeing as the mounting holes are already drilled the easiest way seems to be to fit a new front bumper with foam and use the foam to lift the bonnet slightly. I tested this out with bits of cardboard etc and it worked a treat giving just the right clearance. The more expensive and newer FG models seem to have front body posts that support the front area but this older model doesn't have them. I might add it at a later date. I've also got my eye on a set of GPM shocks which are oil damped rather than the passive setup I have at the moment. I'll save that for next month (supposed to be saving for US road trip in 4 months ).
  8. hahaha, if only that was the case.
  9. I have my brakes set just enough to bring me to a reasonable stop at maximum stick position without being able to lock up any of the axles . I find that helps a lot and reduces the stress on the brake discs. I could see why you might need them if you have the brakes wound right up.
  10. i've never found the need to use one of these, none of my servo's mounts etc move when the brakes are on.
  11. I completely disagree with you on the 30N shell, I love mine. But if we all thought the same thing it would be boring :-)
  12. I bashed the crap out of it on Sunday and although it made by truck look a bit odd with one green wheel it did not break, snap or come off. I did moan on having to un-screw the 4 screws on the hub in order to take the wheel on and off though
  13. Finished spraying and it's not bad but along way from perfect :-( Looks ok from a distance though. Mainly issues with bits of overspray i hadn't spotted which has really annoyed me!!! Still got the rear window to cut out when i can decide what shape hole i want to get to the pull start. I might remove left side rear window as well to reach the choke.
  14. Not yet, still adding FG parts for the touring car to my basket. I need to find and measure the pitbull extender first to work out what size clip it needs.
  15. that purple chassis screams yama to me but i can't find a pic that looks like it.
  16. It has an RCModelz logo down the side so it might be worth investigating with John from RCModelz. I don't think it's an FG as the chassis looks nothing like an FG one. They're normally either wedge shaped if Marda based or have a straight edge if touring car based. That upper platform also looks nothing like the typical FG upper deck.
  17. upload them to your member gallery rather than account attachments.
  18. Thanks Dave, will be adding one of those to by rc-car-online order lol
  19. You need to make sure they extender stays connected to the pull start cover otherwise it flies up and down the cord as you pull it which is really annoying! Those pitbull extenders also only fit certain pull starts as the hole the cord goes through on the cover has different diameters depending on whether it's a CY one, KM one etc. Hopefully you will be luck and the one that Dave gives you will fit your pull start!
  20. Managed to a bit more spraying, coming out nice but the lettering could do with being more accurate. Not bad for a first attempt though.
  21. those pitbull pullstart extenders are a bit hit and miss. I run used to run one on mine as well and i find the plastic circlip that keeps the extender and pull start connected to each other, comes off alot. Might just be mine but i don't use my one now and just learned not to burn my knuckles lol
  22. New side pipe fitted, just a cheap one but much better than the box that was on before. One more test fit of shell and both wings. First blast of colour done.
  23. If I can get it finished this week I will bring it although I'm away quite a bit this week so might not get the chance.
  24. Test fit done, messed up the holes slightly but it will have to do.
