  1. Definitely, definitely, definitely go LIPO for all 3. No hassle messing about with charger settings either but they're just so much better. I made the mistake of initially going with a NiMH and it doesnt get used now.
  2. I thought STD was 88T/19T. According to the manual: the 88T can take pinions from 16T to 23T. the 83T can take pinions from 22T to 30T. the 77T can take pinions from 28T to 35T.
  3. So there's a new model out? Which do you have? Just set the cutout around 3.2v or so?
  4. The ESC is faulty - car won't reverse.
  5. Yeah, so it seems. Although they could have responded saying so though. It went from amazing service to no response.
  6. I have a problem with my Firestorm and they were dealing with it. Suddenly they've stopped responding to any emails at all.
  7. Did you get your order? I never got a response to any emails.
  8. Right. Seems such conflicting opinions on it from reading the thread. eg just European distribution affected. So what is the exact situation then? If you didn't notice the small print at the bottom of the website, it just looks business as usual. James and Josh and the rest not there anymore?
  9. Don't know if it's a co-incidence or not but since this news, none of my mails to HPI are being acknowledged or being replied to. Usually great service but nothing now.
  10. News around that HPI (Europe?) have gone into administration? Or the distribution side of the business? Hope not because their customer service really is second to none. Having said that, I've not heard about my ESC - hopefully not related.
  11. Not very happy at the minute. My Flux wouldn't reverse. Had my ESC firmware upgraded by HPI - still the same. Sent off the ESC again with the motor - and got a new motor. Still no beeps and still no reverse. Everclear1984, are you sure the beeps come from the motor? I've swapped the receiver and still no reverse. Swapped the controller and still no reverse. If I run the car with the wheels off the ground and then select reverse they stop very quickly - so its braking appears fine. If I pull the car backwards it moves freely - and if I engage reverse there is resistance. ESC set to normal braking mode and 2 clicks. Changing between 25% and 100% braking force makes no difference, still no reverse.. Very, very occasionally, when I hold the back end up and push the throttle forward the wheels do spin in reverse but seems completely random. I've also just completely loosened the pinion and it makes no difference - completely removing any possible mechanical issue I think? Has to be the ESC surely?
  12. Thanks. So the beep comes from the motor. I did check the brake/crawler mode and that's fine. I did a reset - and also I assume the firmware update would do so too. My guess is that water's got into the 'waterproof' motor then. Will check when I get a chance tomorrow. Those screws look tiny - any idea what size they are (for spares..)? 1mm?
