  1. ah really? well I'm not set on that one I'm just after a 3 channel one. I'll have a look.
  2. Started to build it yesterday and got to a point where I need my motor This is the first kit I have built and I think the Axial manual/part bags are a bit poor. I find it a bit daft where for example the manual says "open bag A" which doesn't contain all the Items needed in part at so you have to look for the other parts. Another little annoyance was when I was building the transmission the manual says to put a cylinder part in the middle of the outdrive shaft but it no where near fits so I left it out. Anyway I'm looking at the electrics not. I have just bought a HobbyWing 1060 from Chewbacca and am looking at the rest. this is what I'm thinking of: RC4WD 540 Crawler Brushed Motor, I'm wanting it a similar speed to my scout if not a little faster http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/540-Crawler-Brushed-Motor-by-RC4WD-CHOOSE-35-45-55-65-or-80T-Bullet-Connectors-/121197501808?var=&hash=item1c37ef1d70 Power HD LF20 Will water proof http://www.modelsport.co.uk/power-hd-lf20-metal-geared-servo/rc-car-products/388829 Flysky FS-GT3C from UK, I read about the import issues that Deafty on here had, not sure if this would still be an issue but don't really want the hassle of dealing with customs. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221844064880?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Castle BEC, Do I need this though? The ESC has one built in? I think that is it for electrics but then I'll need paint (still deciding on colour) and wheel weights (I don't want it to bounce around).
  3. Looking at the description it states it's a 6 cell battery. So would this not be 1300 / 6? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  4. Brilliant love the look of the lights. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks. Yeah batteries were brilliant. I was just using the stock one and stock firestorm one with 1 cell removed to make it fit. Also had a dynamite 1800 but that's wasn't so good. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  6. I have seen yours going through water (which is awesome) without a problem which is what I'm after not that bothered about warranty being void so might just give that a go cheers. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  7. Cheers for the advice. Will look in to those oho except I will want to get it wet [emoji4] Thinking about it might be better as you say getting decent gear to start with rather than buying twice. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  8. Well I got home form work today to have this given to me! After looking through a load of build threads pictures and banging on about this car for ages my wife bought me a Dingo. I didn't even know it was coming. The thread won't be anything ground breaking but I'll update it as I go. I don't have any other accessories or electrics at the moment and so will be looking what to get. I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any recommendations? I don't want to spend alot of money on the set up just yet and would probably be looking to buy cheaper with intention to upgrade later.
  9. Didn't even know it was coming!! Lovely wife
  10. I went for a camping trip up to Coniston and brought my scout along with me. We went up near the old man of Coniston on around a 5 mile walk. The scout did about 3 of those miles. If anyone is ever visiting the lakes I would definitely recommend taking your crawler as it has to be the best fun I have had with the car. Got a few pictures but not many. A few pictures here from near a local reservoir
  11. As others have said I would also recommend an e firestorm flux. I got the brushed version and was massively disappointed with the speed and battery life. I converted to brushless and Lipo almost straight away. Now it's brilliant. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  12. Didn't see that [emoji41] where's my stick gone? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  13. If only that was true I would sell my firestorm for a million [emoji4]. As said before I would check eBay see what others are selling them at. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  14. A lot of solder you can buy has a flux already in. It helps clean the surface to ensure a good contact. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  15. I have bought a motor combo and batteries as well as other bits and bats from their UK warehouse. Never had an issue and the parts I bought are still spot on. I would definitely recommend. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  16. Great build thread, be sure to get some photos when you take it out.
  17. Took the scouts back axel apart to check the diffrential locker. All good regreased and put back together Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  18. Wow that is smart. Must be great to build but wouldn't dare take it out once complete. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  19. I bought one of these after putting too much weight in the wheels and breaking 3. Not had a problem since. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25T-M3-Metal-Aluminum-Dark-Blue-RC-Servo-Arm-Futaba-Savox-Xcore-HLHSPHD-kyosho-/252060814260?hash=item3aaffecbb4 Will probably get some new drive shafts and thought these looked pretty good. Not tried or tested but look good enough for me. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351143832672?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&var=620341939470&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT then will no doubt do Jacksprogis' axial diff locker mod http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/152327-maverick-scout-diff-case-modification-fix/
  20. I have a scout and love it, The battery does last longer than expected I get at lease half an hour to 40 minutes but I would really recommend getting a decent charger. The one supplies is very slow I think it would take around 6 hours to charge the included batter as opposed to about 40 minutes with a decent charger. I have this and can't fault it. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/overlander-rc6-vsp-80watt-7a-output-ac-dc-charger-with-fan/rc-car-products/379060 Don't put too much weight in the wheels like I did. I keep breaking the servo horn Just remembered that charger doesn't come with a tamiya connection and I had to make my own for the scout battery.
  21. I didn't even know the weight until you asked. hmm might take some out then don't really want to be buying new gear every time i use it. Thanks
  22. I might as well keep this servo until it breaks but think I will get an alloy horn (I agree with anything anyone says ). The servo is 25 spline it actually says MS-25 on the servo. That and i counted them. The wheels have 400g in each front. Not sure it this was too much for the little plastic horn and probably my servo but its in now and I cant really be bothered to take it back out. I wrapped each wheel in strips of lead cut from a pitched roof flashing for a flue. When i put the horn on i turned the scout on and set the trim to central so it should have been central for the horn. Yeah I still need to cut those lugs off as well as the other lugs from the old bumper.
  23. I will check it for loose screws and going to look into a servo saver. Thanks for the advice.
  24. I'd go with this. It's good for him to know but to have his parents overseeing it would be better imo. I don't charge them in any special location just on top of the charger above the fan in the kitchen. I just keep an eye on them.
