  1. £2k will buy you a cracking cbr600, zx6r, bandit, r6, gsxr600, sv650 etc etc A decent 125 will cost you the same unless you want one that's been owned by a kid who hasn't maintained it or you're lucky.
  2. I couldn't agree more. 125cc aren't even worth wasting your time on unless you plan to keep it and renew your cbt each time and be satisfied with what you've got. As you've already said a 600, whatever you choose isn't going to cost very much more at all financially in terms of purchase price, tax, insurance etc. I passed my test about 10 years ago now and have had a few 600s and have now settled on my R6 5sl. 125s become boring very quickly, even when you are a law abiding rider. Longer journeys are a pain and motorways a nightmare. I'd say do your test and pick up a nice bike that you're going to be happy with. Try a few first. Good luck.
  3. This, just get your money back.
  4. Oops, too much Christmas spirit I suspect
  5. If I was starting out again with a grand, I'd buy a 1/5 scale baja km or hpi new and a really decent used 1/8 brushless buggy.
  6. Someone had a bargain here, they do come up http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192028224204
  7. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252681662550 Youll see loads at this price and slightly cheaper. You'd only require a charger
  8. How coincidental, I was just on another forum that I use and someone just posted this Honda cub
  9. Just looked at Honda cubs on ebay, my jaw almost fell off £1000+ for a decent one. My dad had one in the early eighties, sometimes took me to school on it, never felt so embarrassed ! You can do your direct access for £600 and with the remaining £400 be almost on a reasonable second hand proper bike.
  10. I keep reading about your motorcycling endeavours and with all due respect and for the money you're spending on a "chicken chaser" you could have already paid for you're direct access. I know you say you struggle on a geared bike, however a mornings practice and you'll have it cracked. Best thing you'll ever do. You don't have to jump on a thousand. I did mine approx 10 years ago and have had a few sports bikes, couple of bandits, sv650 etc. Now got a yamaha R6 5sl, you'll find what you're comfortable with. Sorry to go completely off topic, just keep reading you're posts about pedro, upgrades and repairs and think to myself you could be fully licensed, kitted out and have a decent second hand bike by now. Do it, you honestly won't regret it, even if you decide on a 250 etc !
  11. And to add to this the vast mojority really is "plastic rubbish" even when comparing the same toy lines that I had as a kid to some of the toys that my kids have now. I grew up with eagle eyed action men, the original star wars figures and vehicles, die cast vehicles including tonka and the like. I don't recall even the plastic figures or vehicles ever breaking and they lasted years and put up with some serious abuse. Plastic toys break within weeks now with moderate play.
  12. Never a truer word spoken ! Well done that man.
  13. Paypal will always decide in favour of the buyer providing that the item is returned within the specified time limit.
  14. As per title really, has anybody used them and did you have much success with your website ? If so did you stick with the free URL or upgrade to or add your own domain ? I've just spent the last couple of days putting together a website (non rc related) and am quite pleased with it so far considering that I have never had anything to do with Web design. I was more interested in finding out if people's free Wix websites had had any success. I was hoping to post a link to my site here for honest opinions/criticism but not sure if this is OK with the mods ?
  15. Like most on here I started with sticks, now use wheel. Obviously both are still available, it's just a matter of personal preference, try both and see which your comfortable with.
  16. Oh, it's you again, the usual "in this hobby don't expect a refund guy" The context of this thread and my subsequent response was that the guy with the hummer purchased an inferior product and should have returned it for a refund. I have purchased new rc's, some quite pricey, in the £3??'s + kit + rtr, they have not been fit for purpose nor crashed or abused. They have gone back and I have been fully refunded. That is the beauty of online/distance selling, retailers simply have no choice whatsoever. If I'm not satisfied it goes back whether you or they like it or not. Same as a TV really.
  17. Absolute rubbish. If an item designed to fulfil a purpose isn't fit for that said purpose then full refund will be issued to the purchaser should the purchaser so wish. Read up on your consumer rights !
  18. That piece of junk would've gone back immediately for a full refund if it were me. Always makes me laugh when some people say it's the nature of the hobby, can't expect a refund, problems should be expected blah blah blah !
  19. Just post them, say they're something else. Honestly, we can't fart these days !
