  1. Used this motor for a while in my converted T-Maxx before i sold it. It can straight out of a Kyosho DRX VE. Been sat in the cupboard for a while. Won't fit in my Levant otherwise id use it in that. Team Orion Vortex 10 Evo 2400KV Sensorless. Slightly longer than the standard silver can by Tamiya. Swaps only. Or £100000 plus postage of £500 Looking for a sensored brushless motor around 2200-2800kv or 15t to 17t but the wires have to mount at the top like this motor. Not like the Speed Passion that plug into the back.
  2. Doesnt get more more inboard than that. Lol
  3. Ahhh i see what you mean. For me it is not odd. Lol. Ive never had to attach the piston to the rods.
  4. Silicon oil will leak out over time due to the gearboxes not being sealed. What circlips are needed? Ive never needed circlips with these.
  5. https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-54567-DT-03-CVA-Damper-Set-DT02-DT03-DF02-TT02B-NIP/263624366485?_mwBanner=1&ul_ref=https%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F0%2F0%2F0%3Fmpre%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F263624366485%26rvr_id%3D0%26rvr_ts%3D2c5953301640aa48a7a67cb7fff11da2&ul_noapp=true&epid=2256062139 These shocks are great.
  6. Welcome to the site. I use Tamiya grease for diffs or military issued lithium based grease. Dog bones or anything exposed to potential dust i dont use grease i run them dry as it just turns into grinding paste. As for the DF02 shocks. A set of Tamiya CVA shocks are arpund £15 usually inc del off ebay. Ive bought alike a gazzillion sets of them over the years for various models. Any shocks that fit the TT02B, DF02, DF03, and a few other models are all interchangeable. Im currently running DF02 springs on my TT02B. As for the Gool RC ive heard many good things about them. Running 19t will be fine.
  7. How much we looking at? Lol and where do the wires solder into the motor? On the top or the back?
  8. Coincidentally i was looking at them on ebay last night. And i think it may be an option.
  9. Had issues with the motor overheating, and the brakes being poor with the 1060 esc swapped out the 1060 for a tble02, vehicle had much better brakes, very quickly swapped out the 15t motor for a 23t, as a tble02 won’t last 5mins with a 15t motor. Brilliant brakes now. Running 16/61 to try and keep strain off the motor, lasted 7 mins before the ESC thermal cut out. Looking like I am going to have to go brushless, as I’m not swapping for smaller wheels, as that defeats the point of the Levant. I’d love the 16.5t brushless Tamiya motor, but think I’m going to aim for around 2750kv, but gotta be senators to run with a TBLE02, unless I get a complete new combo, OR a higher turn brushed motor.
  10. Any where around Rivington and Horwich is great for bashing. Upwards the pigeon tower.
  11. They are 1/9scale and unique sized to the DRX. My mate has one and we found the best option was to go for 1/8th sized wheels and tyres. They are a little big if you want a scale look. But for actual use and driving they are perfect.
  12. I cant fit a longer can in due to the design of the chassis. Ill try the 23t motor and drop a tooth on the pinion gear. My Neo Scorcher would really like the 15t firebolt motor im sure.
  13. Good afternoon all. Being the self proclaimed TB01 expert this issue has me stumped. My levant... 15t hpi firebolt motor. 1060 hobbywing esc. Fairly sure the gearing is 17/58. Issue. The motor is getting SUPER hot. Running on road with loose gravel. Hot as in 70 degrees hot and smelling a little funky. ESC barely above 34degrees. Now is my issue the motor or the gearing? Im fairly limited on changing the gearing side of life however i can swap out the 15t motor for a 23t motor. Brushless is not an option.
  14. I think its called Gary. Possibly Geoff. Either way. Welcome to the site dude.
  15. Go on @big gaz. give me ya best price on that LRP motor. It will look nice in my TT02B as ive stepped away from brushless again. Lol
  16. Ran for a good while yesterday on short grass and gravel, but ended up getting wet and killed the Rx, todays idea, take the dust shield off the TB01 rally car, cut a new hole in it for the aerial base and fit that. It’s not fully water proof, but it will keep most of the water from damp grass out of it.
  17. The DRX VE is a great car. Stupid size though being 1/9th scale. My mate has both the DRX VE and the nitro version. Great cars. Handle well. Well built and take a good bashing. Doesnt like being run a full speed into a fence though. Tends to bend the chassis.
  18. I suspect your probably right XVP, we shall see how it goes for the time being.
  19. Ran on the 17t pinion. Still smells like its getting quite warm. Think its the ESC but it should be able to deal with 15t. Ill try again when it isnt snowy and its a little easier on the drivetrain
  20. That’s an erm interesting look. Lot different. I like it.
  21. A sparkly new HW1060. Which wouldn’t be bad, apart from I messaged the seller asking them to cancel the order and refund me the money, neither of which happened....
