  1. Finished doing art to it :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. What I would recommend is you put the carb back to factory settings and start again, this is flush on both needles and about a 1mm gap in the carb opening on the idle screw. For a small block engine I would also recommend you get some 20% fuel as unless it is shimmed correctly theres the possibility of pre detonation with 25% and all that's gonna do is wear your engine out quicker and weaken the conrod. With the tuning, have you followed the full break in procedure in the manual first. If you haven't you need to, with the carb at its factory settings! Heat the engine with a hairdryer to loosen it up first should make it easier to start while the engine is still tight. Once break in is done you can start tuning it, check out the tuning guide at the top of the nitro section on here. Any questions, just ask. 9-10 minutes is pretty normal for a tank of fuel. With a smaller tank I manage about that on my first warm up tank before I start driving it. The issue you are having with the engine cutting out when you put the back wheels down definitely points to a clutch problem. start by rolling the car along the grounded making sure it rolls smoothly, it shouldn't require any kind of force and should not be binding. Also listen out for scraping, grinding and binding from the clutch area. If any of this is happening I would recommend you take the engine out, remove the clutch and make sure its all okay.
  3. Painted it :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. A b5m, a nitro 8ight, S-Works 350, a micro RS4, a Kyosho Inferno GT2... Not to mention the engine/pipe/clutch combo I really want in the slayer... I could spend hours listing everything I had my eye on :') Just not enough money...
  5. Clutch springs and a screwdriver Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. In terms of bodies, proline do make a slayer specific one, one of the flo tek ones to help it jump, but if I remember correctly a slash shell should fit, but the body mounting posts will be in the wrong position Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm reality the needles are actually screws. If you think about leaning as blocking fuel flow, and richening as unblocking fuel flow it might help... You screw it in to block the fuel and unscrew it to let more fuel in... Just like a garden tap, imagining the water is the fuel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. 8-9 minutes is pretty normal for a 75cc tank, so I wouldn't worry too much. That's better milage than I get on any of my models... A fair few 1/10th scales only come with 50cc tanks... I don't know about the firestorm in particular, but usually fitting a much bigger tank like that, hyper's is 125cc I think, will cause space issues and will likely require a fair amount of modification and possibly even fabricating mounts and the like. I always tend to keep an eye on the fuel level anyway and top it up before it runs dry, as this will prevent the engine from running lean when it dies. If I was you I'd leave it and just keep an eye on it so you can top it up before it runs dry. But if modification is your thing and you have a good plan for how its all gonna fit together then go for it
  9. Discovered my clutch issues were down to a broken spring... It's barely lasted break in... Also masked and started to cut the slayer's shell :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you can't turn the engine over, most likely it's stuck at top dead centre, where the liner "pinches" It mostly happens to new engines which are tight on pinch and compression. Best way to sort it is not to force it as this will damage it, but heat up the engine block then turn the flywheel as this will cause the liner to expand and the piston should the move freely. I also find it useful to make a mark on the flywheel and remember what point it's at when the engine's at bottom dead centre, in order to prevent it from seizing again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Finished putting the slayer back together yesterday, apart from the transmission, still waiting on the centre diff :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. New wheels and tyres along with the hex adapters :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi there, welcome to the forum the pipe that you pulled off connects the fuel tank lid the the exhaust pipe, and allows you to prime the engine (finger over the exhaust and crank it). It runs fine without because when running the engine is able to suck the fuel up through the carb without any help, but you won't be able to start the engine because you have no way of producing the pressure in the tank to force the fuel into the engine in the first place. When you put your finger over the exhaust you are effectively closing the system, so all the air in the engine gets pushed through the exhaust, but instead of going out the other end it is routed through this pipe into the fuel tank, thus creating the pressure that forces the fuel into the carb. This is a different car but the setup will be the same, there should be a small nipple on the exhaust, where the tube connects to the tank, something like this: So you should have two pipes from the tank, one to the exhaust, and one to the carb: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Since I have no electric starters anymore, these stick packs were taking up space, decided I'd put them to good use, it's only bodged for now, but some solder and some Velcro straps on the way should make it much neater :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Nearly finished getting the slayer back together, just have to wait for my centre diff, wheels and tyres and it's ready to go :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Plenty to keep me amused for a while, still waiting on the centre diff though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. A bag of bearings :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Started putting the large pile of parts and screws back together, just need to wait for my bearings, centre diff and rear brake kit to arrive, then I can start saving for some 17mm hexes and some new wheels and tyres, and my slayer will be awesome :b began to get a handle on all the adjustments I can make too :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Drove the cyclone around, finally put the supra lid on it, and it looks every bit as good as I'd hoped while its moving :b then I melted the clutch, not 100% sure how, will have to investigate at some point then I blasted the slayer with the hose, banishing the dried up mud with ease :b Looked at both wheelspin and modelsport websites and wished i had enough money to buy everything I keep drooling over :') Big things planned for the slayer, but I don't have the big money required yet :')
  20. Bashed the slayer, ran two tanks through it on the common :b then the ez start motor borked -.- think I'll order a pull start, much less hassle... Also saw someone with a savage while I was driving to my bash spot, turned round to say hello (never met a fellow rc'er) but by the time I got back they were gone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ran two tanks through the slayer, bashed it pretty hard, lost the exhaust deflector, covered it in horrible unwanted chalk dust, gonna be a nightmare to clean... -.- and began to fathom out some settings for the spektrum avc :b that makes way more difference than I was expecting, still prefer it without, simply because I'm learning more and gaining more of my own skill that way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Put my slayer back together, new bearings, new filter, new receiver, shook it down and had a play with this fancy spektrum AVC :b at first I was very skeptical, but I'm beginning to like it a little :b noticeably more difficult to get squirrelly :b like to fact it can be turned off the push of a button for donut mad action too though :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Some bearings :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Ran a couple tanks through the cyclone to shakedown my dx4s and it all went swimmingly telemetry seems to work well and was throwing out expected values and the range is great :b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Okay, so I've let it cool down, tried again the right way round and it's gone back into bind mode and appears to be working, but it still refuses to bind :') think I may have got lucky with the explosion :') Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
