      This in an X-Maxx?

      It would work...but it also puts massive stress on ESC, wheels, drivetrain, and just about everything as it's effectively spinning the wheels one way then the other under no load until it throws the car to the point where a tyre bites and flicks it upright.

       

      BarnetBasher used to do it with his Kyosho truck...but then...he also used to twist driveshafts, ruin diffs and burn ESCs as well as balloon tyres off the rims. I never considered it clever.

    tell me about it,im just ****** that traxxas offer firmware upgrades for usa side and nowt for us,surely we all need the upgrade,but when they knew the spartan esc was causing problems they were quick to fix,what does it have to take before they realise the esc in the x maxx is not up to the job,i just hope it doesnt take a death before they act properly on this situation i love traxxas products but everytime i run the maxx im crossing my fingers the esc wont go up,i shouldnt have to carry a big bottle of water around with me.

    how easy was the max 6 to fit in the x maxx,do u still run the temp wire from the motor

    traxxas released a video showing how to tell if your esc needed updating,if it flashed red twice when you turned it off it didn't need the update,i know mine does and i have had no problems so far

    Cant get my XMAXX wheels off,the nuts wont budge,never had this problem on any other model

      My savage flux used to be on so tight I struggled to remove the wheels from the hot racing hexs, bonus is though you don't strip hexs!

      Nice one, I do it all the time with metal to metal fixings, it's surprising how much heat to can put in something with just a hair dryer :good:

    Can you use a normal lipo charger on the traxxas id lipos or do u have to use the traxxas id charger as just bought some and didnt realise they didnt have a external balance lead

    I cant make my mind up on my new RC

    Traxxas X MAXX OR Traxxas XO-1

    Both have good points i like,what do you guys think is the better choice

    would you say a Traxxas Xmaxx is better than a Traxxas Erevo brushless for fun and bashing

      Shark do you have the chassis braces fitted? 

       

      Gmp offer some crown and pinion gears for erevo revo now. Tug might have them.

      might just keep the revo then,was thinking of selling and getting the maxx but there must be something in the fact that most shops have them in stock

      i must be lucky as only replaced my diffs once,since filling with diff oil they have been perfect for me but i only run 4s.touch wood thats the only problem ive had since new

    does any1 know if you can buy replacement fans for a mamba monster 1 esc that comes with the brushless e revo and if yes where

      thats a CSE011-0018-00 replacement (castle creations - " replacement code " )

      You can also decamp the esc (remove from case) there be a little connector plug (black n red wires) unplug that and slip the esc board out of the body. inside the plastic bodywork you will find what looks like a 40-60 mm fan, moreso the 40mm. on that fan is a sticker n it says something like 12v 0.3ah. take note of that rate on the fan.

      now goto the local pc stores online ( maplin - amazon and likes) punch in 4cm or 40mm pc fan and check the numbers you wrote down and match to a fan. cost is not very much 3 quid to around 5 quid.
      when it comes just lop off the old connector from the knackered fan, chop of the pc styled connector and solder your hobby connector on. plug it back into esc remount esc and lock down the case. your esc fan should now work and spin up (its also a little more quiet for now but will soon get noisey again)

    whats the best gearing setup for the firestorm flux,i have used the bonus speed pack of 77 spur and 35 pinion but that only works for a short while then the esc overheats

      Move down to about a 25 I should think... For what pinions that size cost, buy a few.

    3 different servos and not one fit in the firestorm flux,am i doing something wrong or is it very picky what fits

      Are you using the correct servo horn? I'm sure the firestorm servo horn is slightly raised if I remember correctly
