  1. Sounds like you went too heavy on the oil, i used HPI 35w when i had mine, but i just used the standard springs. Also isn't a duratrax 835 a buggy? its going to be around 500g lighter than the virus truggy so the springs may not be much better than standard - how do they compare? do the duratrax ones feel stronger when you compress them between your fingers?
  2. Just seams logical, not saying they did (i did say "if"), but it would make sense as to why they would ask for it back after telling you to keep it. Did you not ask why they need it back after saying you didn't need to?
  3. I use wireless madness all the time, both online and in store as its one of my local model shops. I've never had a problem, in fact they have helped me out quite a lot matching in stock parts to fit my vintage stuff and ordering from the USA for me if we cant find anything. In fact if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't even be in the hobby! I think your making a mountain out of a mole hill myself. It's standard practise to send faulty parts back, and if they have had a request from the distributor for the broken part, what do you expect them to do?
  4. I've got a good clean Tamiya TB01 roller with manual, standard servo, full bearing kit and oil filled shocks, 3 different sized spur gears (new) and an almost new shell (will need holes drilling to suit the TB01). I will also throw in a 13t brushless motor and 60A esc for free, one or both of them are faulty and as i use nitro i have no interest in finding out what's wrong with them (think its the motor) I've also got a Kyosho Alpha EP 2 which is RTR with a brushed set up (23 turn motor i think) and 27Mhz radio gear. Again it has a full bearing kit and oil filled shocks fitted, plus an new larger pinion gear. Could take out the electrics if you don't need/want them Also got brand new HPI drift tyres, wheels, sticky tyres, li-po battery too if you want one RTR PM me if your interested, willing to split/do a deal on anything
  5. +1 for a gas iron, i have a 60w Portasol kit too (had it over 10 years now), and a bigger 80W ish Weller gas iron for heavy duty tasks (not needed it yet for RC though). The Portasol always goes in my tool bag when bashing, I've even plastic welded broken parts with it in the field
  6. If you used UK Direct Channel shipping, it takes around 6 days. If you used the international air shipping it can take up to 4 weeks
  7. Looks like the hobbyking clones, i use these and these with my Etronix version and they work perfectly.
  8. I had an SH.18 rear port, great motor, started easy and was quick too in my HPI Nitro MT. Should just drop in, make sure you check what crank shaft type you need, most are SG cranks but some models use different types.
  9. yes, new piston and sleeve is needed there. Depending on the cost involved, it may be more economical to get a new engine.
  10. Got any more photos? especially one showing everything included and of course the shell
  11. cut off the blank end of a 1.5mm drill bit
  12. When ordering from the International warehouse i use the UK Direct Channel shipping option and it seams to take 7 - 10 days on average to arrive for me. (quickest was 5 days, longest was 12 days), I used the cheapest option once but it took 6 weeks so wont be trying that one again
  13. I've placed 16 orders with Hobbyking so far - never had a problem. I've had a few warranty claims too for servos and they have sent out replacements quickly with just photo evidence. I use the Live Support to get warranty claims moving quickly.
  14. Made you one dude, just send me your address via PM
  15. how about this mate http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/kyosho-alpha-2-3-nitro-racer-Differential-Kit-New-Front-or-Rear/321487959313?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3D2f8606f56506451caf1a84bae5256453%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D20140107083358%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D321087878536
  16. https://www.dropbox.com/s/barvsfwx7n7c7y1/A3017T-Attacker-manual.pdf there you go mate.
  17. My brother has the older X1, its built like a tank. If it were me, i'd get the X3 over the hyper 7, much newer design and just as strong if not stronger. But i would get the kit as its much stronger with all the upgrades and race ready, plus i would want a good .21 engine and use my own servos rather than cheap RTR servos that likely need replacing anyway.
  18. Springs are available in different strengths/thickness, they are normally, 0.8mm(very soft), 0.9mm (soft), 1.0mm (normal), 1.1mm (stiff) the different springs are used as a tuning option, with the softest springs usually used on a low traction surface and the stiffest (1.1mm) usually used on high traction surface such as grass/astro The softer the spring the lower the RPM when the clutch starts to engage and vice versa. As far as I'm aware, all 3 shoes springs are able to be used with any 3 shoe clutch set up, though i could be corrected as this is just my experience from running various 3 shoe set ups.
  19. So far it's needed chassis braces making up and it's going to need a better centre diff mount, probably off a hyper 7 (
  20. I've got the Virus 3 ST Kit, got it off http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310746795929?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT'>ebay
  21. Odd wheels mate, he has different wheels front and rear! I spotted it straight away
  22. Think you've missed out on that
  23. WD40 is a good after-run oil actually. Its a water displacement oil, which does exactly what we want, to get rid of the water from inside the engine to stop it corroding. And as its such a low viscosity it gets to all the nooks and crannies in side the engine unlike the thicker "after-run" oils. Then as AJ said, 3-in-1 or other higher viscosity oil to lube the bearings, ready for the next start-up. Traxxas and maybe some other manufactures used to recommend WD40 in their manuals until they realised they could make more money from selling gullible people "after-run oil" at a huge mark up. It has been used for many years in nitro engines and (to my knowledge) never caused swelling of seals or o-rings. In fact i have yet to see any o-ring swell from WD40 after over 15 years in the motor trade as a mechanic.
  24. It cheaper to get it from the official UK Distributor https://www.adrenaline-rc.co.uk/products/nitro-fuel P+P is only
  25. I think it is, its off an RC plane forum, never seen a real one with Futaba stencilled on it before. Plus there's no pilot in it Seen them on YouTube too Edit, your right, its photoshoped, sorry guys. found the original pic on google There are some large scale RC VTOL jets on youtube though
