Just to expand on my previous comments. I have been testing the A5000 camera against the Edge + phone I got the other day as well. Video on the Edge + is much better than on the A5000 even at the lower resolutions such as 1080p. 4K on the Edge + is pretty impressive for a phone,looks pretty good on my 4K 49" LGTV. Likewise photos on the Edge + are also very good when viewed on the TV but the A5000 JUST has the edge (no pun intended) but it is a pretty close run thing,by my eyes anyway. The phone as an "all in one" solution which also has the ability to make phone calls (as well as numerous other things) is hard to beat,it seems the camera is as much an important part of a phone these days than anything. The A5000 is okay if you only want 1080p

Yep it is 25mw but pretty much EVERYONE in the UK uses higher. 25mw does work fine but if something higher comes in the kit so be it,it's your choice if you want to use it

I dont disagree but it is still a mess and not helped by the fact that anyone employed to enforce a law doesn't know it either! Loads of videos being done by someone near me that are posted daily on FB and nearly all are illegal flights by the strictest of definitions however cause they are "nice" they seem to get overlooked and people don't make any negative comments but as soon as there is an accident it will probably make the same paper that some of the videos/pictures are also featured in.

So you are saying if I am flying a quad that is recording without me having any screen to see what it is recording that it will get confiscated? I think there has to be a line drawn between having a screen that you are constantly looking at compared to one where you might take a quick glance to see what is going on,lets face it the stability aspect is one of the selling features of most of these quads. Also in videos I see where there is a seperate pilot and camerman there is chat between the person flying and operating the camera,to me thats more of a distraction than a quick glance at a screen now and again. Also if one person is flying and one is operating the camera who exactly is spotting there? Not knocking what you are saying but it is all so vague at the moment (depsite what people might say) it isn't even a joke.

You can use a Zenmuse gimbal on the Phantom series,it is pretty much a plug and play option. However if you use it with a Gopro then it is okay for recording but you cant view what the Gopro is seeing. You can get a video transmitter into the mix however but again the video transmitter requires power,that is where a bit of a problem can arise. You can use the DJI FPV board,that allows the video transimtter to draw power and also provides a video connection between the Gopro and video transmitter. It is also possible to connect in a DJI mini iOSD,that overlays information such as number of satellites,battery level etc onto the video image. However it should be noted that newer Gopro firmware has disabled video to be output to the USB port which is what the gimbal uses to connect to the Gopro to supply the video feed. The moral of the story is get a Gopro now that would have the older firmware on it and dont update it. This shows a set up They are using a DJI video transmitter but you can use other makes.

Do you just want to see where you are going or do you want to record as well? Gimbals are usually used more with recording than FPV. FPV with a gimbal is a bit odd as you get no sense of movement and you could being going head long into the ground but the gimbal will be keeping the camera level and you might not realise what is going on. If you just want to see then something like this would work although you still need to power the video transmitter. Just bought a Sony A5000,still getting to grips with it to be fair. I got it the other day when ebay were offering 20% off,bought it from the Argos store on ebay,was £250 and with the discount I paid £199 and collected it from my local store on the way to work 20 minutes or so later

I still find 3D printed stuff quite rough. Not seen anything yet that is totally smooth,maybe that would come with higher cost of the machine?

Just do it,makes no difference at all other than it unlocks some other settings for the switches. They only ship it in Phantom mode to make it easy for the idiots who cant remember what a couple of switches do

Yeah there is some stuff missing but I cant imagine there is a back up of the forum done daily so there is bound to be some loss I would have thought. Still I am sure people will pop back up and ask the same questions that have been asked/answered numerous times before to make up for it

I caved in and bought one lot of stuff I had reserved,the cheaper lot Scooby Doo mystery machine,Snowspeeder and Death Star final duel.I only really wanted the final duel set and had planned to sell the other two but the more I looked at the two the more I wanted to build them,so I did The Mystery Machine is a great compact build and it is nice and solid feeling when complete.All the minifgures are great but Scooby Doo himself is a bit disappointing,for me at least. Snowspeeder is a little disappointing but the stud shooter on the back is ace and the two pilot figures are also great. The final duel is a bit smaller than I had thought but again is a nice little set.My plan is to try and put some lights in this one to make it a little more intersting.Would have good play value if you had kids.

I have got 3 Argos reservations with different local stores for various "lots of 3" with a view to keeping one item out of each "lot" and selling the other two. Dont know which one to go for though and it still feels like I am buying for the sake of it if I am honest
