  1. not the nicest man to deal with either from experience........
  2. i second that, i own a EB4 S2 and its got to be the best little buggy i own, ive abused it and bashed it over the four years and ive never really had any serious problems with it at all, sertainly better than my kyosho inferno neo. the only two weaknesses ive found with them are the upper wisbone rear links are made of plastic and bend, i bought the aluminium set for a tenner that solved that straight away and the steering knuckles are made of cast ally and the bottom threads tend to go on the bottom ball joints, ive threadlocked them in tight on my second set of knuckles and no problems since. also thundertiger parts are dirt cheap too so if you do manage to break anything its cheap to fix which is a bonus
  3. made a complete t-maxx out of my parts draw.. :)

Badger is my second favourite word behind boobs it should recognise it by now

  4. a revo 3.3 a new engine for the inferno neo a losi 8 with a mamber monster kit and finally a nice big and heavy baseball bat for the thieving f@ckers that live in my town > and possibly a set of furry handcuffs for the missus of course (and a gag)
  5. HOLD ON! if its the old hawk type wich you have then theres only one engine that will fit and one only, its the pro.15 traxxas LONG SHAFT. the hawks have a backwards clutch/flywheel thing going on. you can buy the short shaft traxxas pro .15 and swap over the crankshafts if you want to keep on using the hawk, if it is this model http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b170/momotheman5/hawkch.jpg the hawks are getting rare indeed and the buggys, might fetch a good price to someone who loves classics. they go well too i had one for a short while....
  6. could be a mix of things, is it smoking badly? extra throttle could be a very rich bottom end so it might need more air intake so stop it from bogging. idle adjustment could be low, might have to reset the servo horn and throttle trim as well. your glow plug could also be bad,
  7. why not get a t maxx? the 2.5 not the 3.3, they've been around a while so the parts are plentyful, they have an easy start on them instead of pull starts so much easier for her to start it herself, and with a little fiddling you can tone it down for her to learn on it and when she gets better you can tune it back up again,
  8. thunder tiger eb4 s2 pro, they'r on modelsport for
  9. thundertiger pro 21 bxr or 28 bxr, if it will fit as the pullstart is on at an angle on these so it limmits choice of buggys you can stuff them in, i found them a very good engine all round and they are very durable too.
  10. ive owned one for years, still works fine and it has outlasted loads of other servos ive bought over time. its currently in my nitro sport working the steering, the wires on mine are different to the ones in the vid though......
  11. its a hot bodies lightning 10, its written on the reciever box but theyr practically identical anyways.... i had one, they handled pretty well too. a good all rounder.
  12. might pull out and swap the pro 15 for the 2.5 in my rusty

  13. putting everything on charge, adjusted the shift point on my t maxx 3.3 to keep it from changing into second so quickly, fixed the seal on my JP2 pipe on the buggy so i can take it out too tommorow for some bashin' made a hanger wire to hold my new filter on the mad maxx
  14. more problems with my rusty, this engine has been a problem since it came out of the box!

  15. Yeah I agree it is a better box but I would prefer to use the old box if I can at least Untill it goes bang, i also can't seem to get it to fit the new box into the old chassis unless i get the dremmel out and allow space for the new break and fatter shafts as they seem to interfere with the chassis. theres got to be a solution other than going down the extended chassis route to accomodate the new box. Are there any aftermarket breaks availiable for the old box, are there any mods i could look into? I have tried the stock savage break disks and have the stronger savage calipers I've fiddled with the linkage and got a hitek 645mg servo in the throttle wich made it better but not by much. It still fades dramatically.
  16. Have you thought about getting hold of an old t maxx or revo roller and converting it to electric? There's motor mounts going cheap on eBay and you don't need to get a complete t maxx just a roller as you will be discarding the engine, pipe, most of the radio gear and throttle linkage anyway, sure it might be some work to do but at the end of it you will have a e maxx or a e revo that is your build. there's a converted maxx up the track where I go and its quite a nice one and it don't half shift too. Just a thought....
  17. i must add that the cluchbell or spur its geared for top so it goes pretty fast and im allways hittng top end before i need to slam the anchors
  18. hi all, i have a t maxx classic 2.5 with a 3.3 installed, the power icrease is insane but ive been battling for a while now with breaking, ive tried everything from putting a stronger throttle servo to completly swapping out the breaks with that of a savage wich helped for a little while but it stop it quickly, i have a 3.3 box with the new break design and the nececery parts to put it in but i do like the old 2.5 box and really dont want to swap it out if i can help it. any mods or tips or upgrades that you guys know? i love my maxx and now its pretty bullet proof apart from this issue that seems to be letting it down atm
  19. if i remmember right the thundertiger box is simmilar to the t maxx gearbox and the selectors are a pain in the maxxes as well. check if the selector fork is in the right grooves on the gear and chech the selector itself for play or dammage, on the t maxx they have snap in pegs that act as the wear point on the selector and theese have a habit of falling off. http://www.todoomodelisme.com/fiches/pdf/ heres a link to a page containing the exploded view of a mta4 box hope this helps http://traxxas.com/products/models/nitro/49104tmaxxclassic-downloads this is a link to the t maxx gearbox it might help as they use the same selector fork design
  20. My T maxx is back on the mud!!

  21. well dont get a kyosho neo race spec as the ke 25 engine is absolutely and utterly ****. i have one and the piston and sleeves are made out of a very heat resistant cheese, the worst ever engine i have ever owned and lives up to the kyosho name, the chassis and the rest is brill though, its as tough as a hyper 7 if not tougher and it handles better than a hyper 7 out of the box in my oppinion just be prepared to replace that engine in the not so distant future, hypers are common and very good for the price, spares are plentyful on ebay and web
  22. i made mine out of a empty tin of beans and a car headlight. and i use my 12v gel battery and it works a treat. looks a little crude though and gets a few giggles at the track but it works.
  23. the TT MTA4 s28 truck has a dual start backplate and will fit the 28 bxr engine but you might have to check if it will fit in your buggy with no problems or modds. not familliar with the S3 as i have the S2. also its expensive as you will ave to buy the whole unit and the backplate itself. certainly a very good option if it will all fit as you got the best of both then
  24. the only drawbacks is the pullstart backplate is on the engine at an angle so you might need to get tall mounts or mod it in some way to fit in some buggys. perfect in monster trucks. also the pullstarts are utter rubbish be prepared to either constantly fix them or have replacements in your pit box
  25. they are a very good engine and a very forgiving engine to those new to nitro, not the fastest but certainly the most durable, ive been racing the 21 version for 4 years and counting! the s 28 engine is just as good, perfect in a savage or whatever you wish to put it in really!
