  1. Yep my hyper needs less than a mm otherwise revs high at idle.
  2. Bought new wheels and tyres for the Hyper 7 and tried them out.!
  3. I got my daughter a recon and it isn't that well made IMHO for the money and parts are expensive. She likes it and has a good time but she is pretty careful with it. I am considering the maverick ION cheaper and has some better parts but is very similar to the recon. Really like the mini 8 but they are a bit more cash. But have loads of hop ups. Take a look on the for sales as there were a few mini 8s for sale. What yah going to do with it?
  4. I have the fastrax ones and they seem ok but not done any real cranking yet but are a good fit and seem good enough. Huey are very expensive but do play on my magpie tendencies!
  5. It would have to be bloody cheap as just got a tax bill so you would probably have to pay me to take it off your hands . Why is the 8s better than the 4s? Don't like the lunchboxes more style in a tupperware box stuck on a roller skate. My only concern is a lot posted about stripping spur gears and that it wheelies easy or can this be tuned down?
  6. They do look sweet and I have found a really good bash site which is a little to rough for the Hyper 7. That looks like a nice example Jordan enjoy. How come some have 4 and some 8 shocks? Really am keen to get one but the finances say no!
  7. Looking at these as a 2nd RC.... They any good and what issues do they have? Are there other alternatives?
  8. 200 to 230f seems to be the general consensus.... After WOT.
  9. Cleaned the Hyper after a couple hours play and noticed two of the tyres have come unstuck.....! New wheels and tyres then. Wife just asked if there is a more expensive hobby I could do?
  10. Tuning is going good learning a lot as you know. Just got in from a session on Longmoor. Sandy and damp but still great fun. Learnt that the plug you run makes a big difference as tried with a number 4 (fastraxs) and temps were a good 15 deg c higher than with a 6. Glow starters need to be fully charged in this weather (I now take two with me a HPI 1800mah and an Ansman 3000 mah). Starting can be an issue but is easier if you warm the engine. Once going not a problem. You really do have to be patient as adjustments take time to be seen on the temp. I am always on the lookout for places to bash, so if I find some Farnham (furthest dist I cycle your way) I will let you know. Good luck.
  11. Cheers Nitrolic. Will go for 25% probably Opti race as that is what is sold around here. The 95c is after a couple of 3 - 5 sec WOT runs with no loss of power like b4, bring it in take temp. Cools pretty quick to 75c, Stays highish revs for 10 secs prior to dropping to a nice consistent idle with a small amount of unburnt fuel dripping but not loading up as much so pretty happy with it now. Not to keen on running it any leaner as I am not racing. May Lean it after a few more tanks but only a little. Just need to recharge glow starters and humpback bat and out tomorrow weather dependent. At this rate will be buying fuel again thursday!!!
  12. Where in Hampshire are you? I am Petersfield way. If you are near Portsmouth I know an area.... Yes the rain was a pain but got 5-6 tanks thru the Hyper7 yesterday Arvo.
  13. Mid needle looked okay didn't have to touch it. A nine year old girl trying to hold the torch and look down the barrel at the sametime as me didn't work so well though. Out yesterday and after 3 tanks an a stable 95c temp leaned out HSN still rich but getting faster. Idle and LSN need slight adjustment but lost a bolt from the Servo saver so no more drivin. Need to get some spares. Anyone selling? Cheers for help.
  14. Lost bolt and nut from turn buckle to servo saver on TQ2 hyper 7. 3x15mm bolt and nut ended a good days bashing.......!
  15. Well..... Leaned out LSN as was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy rich and hiding the fact I was Lean on the HSN. Got the Idle set better but now way rich on the HSN. Getting there and running sweet still smoking and a little un burnt fuel at idle but accelerates well some to go on top end a bit burbbly. Temps seem a bit more under control 230f after WOT runs and then starts to cool at idle. Doesnt stall when accelerate from idle either. Feeling more confident... So next post will probably be blown engine!
  16. Ooooh. Finish running in Hyper 7 TQ2 Get Hobao ST pro kit and build Savage X4.6 1/10 elec Buggy for racing.
  17. Thanks guys. Like the sound of the ST as my driving skill (Hamfisted tw.t as I have been called) probably will have the savage rubber side up most of the time.... Which I believe reduces performance conciderably. Would love to get both but the financial director (aka the wife) says that is not an option (getting one may be difficult)..... got away with telling her the reason for having four bicycles in the shed is that they are terain specific but cant get her to believe it for RC cars. Only option is to get my daughter to buy the Savage herself as she loves the colours and shape (girls huh) but no denighing she has good taste (gets that from me?). My other issue is finding places to run these things as always Nitro is noisy but gr8 fun. . May have to get the spade out as there is some rough ground out back but it is a bit boggy. Anything else in the offing.
  18. Wish I lived where you do I would have to make the Hyper amphibious to use it down here. Praying for good weather to get some drivin done as def need the practice. Got fuel, tuning screwdriver n temp gauge colder or is it hotter plug still cant work it out and ready to go. Good luck Christian with the tuning.
  19. Cheers Dazza any reasons? guy at the LHS is trying to sell me both LOL.
  20. Likin the look of the ST... Considering a Savage or an ST as my next purchase for bashing in ****ty conditions... Any opinions on which is better or are they so completely different that they can't be compared. Nice jump Derx pitty about the landing.
  21. Thanks Perppeller Could you have a look at the thread I started "Hyper TQ2 Tuning ques?" and give comments please. Good luck Robbie1 I have learnt patience is very important......unfortunately I have none...!
  22. Sorry to ask on this thread..... but when you say warmer plug what do you mean? Sorry for being dumb..... I run a Fastrax4 med plug so to run the engine cooler what plug would I use? Cheers.
  23. Yeah mine has the mid needle, which inadvertently moved when checking factory settings (LSN turns it as mid must have been a bit loose, or I am stronger than I think) LHS guy set it back for me but I will have a look this morning. What do you line them up with, not quite sure what you mean, may do when I look. Cheers.
  24. Manual states 10 - 20 % Nitro for running and first use? Tried 1/8 out for HSN but still ran hot but will try again next time I run it, cheers.
