  1. Hi. I’ve got a piston and sleeve from a hpi engine which was from a savage but can’t recognise which one it’s from. Many ideas.
  2. Hi, I’ve been reading upnon sleeve pinching and still not sure whether to try it. Has anyone had good results with this and if so did you buy a proper tool ? as you can see from the picture the piston pushes through the sleeve. thanks Robert
  3. Hi, I’ve been stripping down and rebuilding some hpi t-15 engines and have been trying to get them started. I bolted them to a board to test them before fitting into the chassis. They all started after a while but couldn’t control the revs and they were screaming. So thought must have an air leak. So ordered RTV sealant and got soapy water and tested them and they all leaked at the front bearing. Just about to give up on them and then thought would it make a difference if the flywheels were fitted ? so put them on and they all start and work really well. Would a complete idiot !! anybody else spent ages chasing problems that weren’t really problems !!!! s
  4. Hi, I was wondering if anybody out there knows about 3D printing. I’ve got various parts I need that are discontinued for example hpi rush evo receiver lid and wasn’t sure if a 3D printer could copy a part I already have ?
  5. That’s handy to know. Cheers
  6. Hi. I’ve been reading up on compression testing. It seems that holding the flywheel when piston is at the top and seeing if the engine weight is held by the compression. Is this the best way of checking. I stripped a couple of engines apart and also tried the piston in the sleeves to see where it pinched. One engine pinched 1mm below the top of the sleeve and the other pushed fully through the sleeve. So assume that ones no good. These engines are old so parts not available easily. Is it worth trying to pitch the sleeves as also read about this. Thanks Robert
  7. Hi. I was wondering if there was a quick release idea for the losi 5t cage so you don’t have to undo the bolts. Any thoughts would be very grateful.
  8. Hi. This hpi engine was on an old rush evo which is different to the standard rush. The carburettor only has a hsn and you adjust it by turning it with your fingers and not a screwdriver. I don’t know what the base setting is and wondered if anybody knows ? thanks Rob
  9. Ok thanks, So set it to 6v and when the receiver pack gets down to 6v it will kill the engine. I will give it a go. Thanks for your help.
  10. Hi, I’ve been fitting a kill switch to my losi and I’m using the spectrum DX5C and 415 receiver which is compatible with the kill switch and won’t be using AVC as wont work with kill switch I’m told. I’ve managed to fit it but I’m not sure what to set the voltage cut off at ? im using a 2 cell 7.4v lipo and watched an install video where they show taking off the jumpers completely as they said it’s a lipo but the instructions show either setting it to 4v, 5v or 6v for the cut out. Im a little confused on what I should do ? many thanks in advance.
  11. That’s great thanks. I will be going to both of these. Thank you very much for the help. Robert
  12. Hi, Yes your right, I’m going to forget the avc and put the kill switch on and get driving !!!!
  13. Hi All, I’m getting my new losi 5t run in and wondered if anyone knows of good areas near Peterborough to use it. Thanks Robert
  14. Hi, I was looking at that the DX5C and was trying to find out if it displays the battery level in the car ?
