  1. Very nice. OD and 2 speed out of the box!
  2. Price aside, it is good to see the RTR version come with belted tyres. Essential for 8S shenanigans really.
  3. Folks I've been driving my Tekno EB410 (original version) and I'd like to fit some new wheels and tyres for on-road use. I tried some generic 12mm hex road wheels from my LC Racing EMB truggy (which uses generic 1:10 4WD buggy wheels) and although the wheel hexes fit and the offset is okay, the wheel material is too thick for the front wheel bolts to take. I can't seem to find wheels for it in the UK, but some places say that TLR22-4 wheels will work. Anyone know where to get some in the UK? Thanks
  4. Just to say I have a first and second refusal already. POstage is £7 Royal Mail Tracked 48 as it weighs 6kg with all the wheels.
  5. Folks Having to thin out my collection for the autumn comp crawler build, so looking for a good new home for my Losi Eight e 3.0. Bought this 2 years ago from a fellow forum member who had done the electric conversionand I have fitted a Mamba Monster 6s system. It also has an MG995 metal gear servo. It's an old one but a good one. I got it with a very snazzy bittydesign painted shell, and to keep that one clean I bought an LFR shell and painted it up a minty green colour. Check the pics. It's seen a lot of action but all in good working order. It is insance on 6s, wheelies on demand. You just need to fit a receiver of your choice and go bash! It could probably do with the shocks and diffs being stripped down, but it's all imperial hardware and I haven't got the stuff to do it! I have the box, manual and an extra 2 sets of road tyres (one new, one old, new pins are fitted and old pins are in the box) I'm looking for £50 plus cost of postage (£7 Royal Mail tracked 48 - 6kg with all wheels included) - Power system is easily worth twice that. Basically looking for a good new home. I won't split it, it has to sell all in one go, and I'd really prefer collection in person but I will post if that's to omuch trouble. Let me know if you have any questions. Pics follow...
  6. That looks so nice - amazing value for the kit. V tempted to get one to go with my EMB-TGH!
  7. Thanks. It's nice the UTB18 Capra but quite a lot of sheets for a little thing. I ended up getting a used Gen2 Torment for half the money of a Capra, and still enjoying it box stock 🙂 There should be more choice in mini comp crawlers - someone needs to plug the gap in the market.
  8. Folks I'm in the mood for a smallish bodiless comp crawler for the winter. Something small enough to be fun indoors when the weather is pants, or in the back garden when weather is better. Back in the day I had a 4WS GMade R1 - that was fun but a bit big and not as capable as the XR10 (which I should have bought at the time). I sold the R1 but did enjoy the build / conversion. In lockdown I built a TRX4 sport. Loved the build but flipped that too. Again a bit too big. I now have an Axial SCX24 - love it to bits as does my son. I could do the Furitek Scythe V2 conversion but I think I'd have to upgrade the motor too. Plus I'd like to keep the SCX24 as a scaler. What are my options for a smallish bodiless comp crawler in 2022? I want something more capable than anything that I have had so far. I like the looks of the ECX Temper Gen 2 which is 1:18. Just worried about swapping in 380 motor, ESC and RX when the chassis and axles mry not justify the upgrade cost. Other than the Temper, there only seem to be the Gmade R1 and the RC4WD bully as comp crawler kits you can buy from new. What would you suggest? Tnx
  9. Welcome back! If you miss the Muggy get a Kraton 🙂
  10. Nice maiden run! I got the EMB-TGH kit and built it in Lockdown 1. I have the older L6152 body whic h you can't get any more. Does the new bodyshell still fit with two clips near the front shock towers and one clip near the spur cover?
  11. Is it the same motor that was in the original XO-1?
  12. I quite like the Mad Max looks too. It even has LEDs for post apocalyptic driving at night. Agree they need to knock £100 off the price though.
  13. Nothing to see here over a Kraton EXB in my opinion. Wheelbase looks too short for the power, Centre diff isn't set up well enough to stop fronts ballooning. Battery tray looks fiddly. Body mount system will come loose after a few knocks on the head. But I do like that motor brace, and a bigger selection of truggies is always a good thing. I have 1:14, 1:10, 1:8 and 1:8+ truggies and love them all, maybe a bit too much 🙂
  14. I'm with Jari on this one. RTR prices have gone nuts since lockdown because RC Cars are fun thing to do on your own / with family. Tenacity DB is a nice bit of kit but it's not worth £500. My advice - 1 - Try and put money into bits that are going to last you a long time. A decent radio will last for ages and is so much niceer than the usual RTR rubbish. ESCs come and go but a decent brushless motor if looked after will also last ages too. 2 - Try and get the best deal you can on the 'bendable' bits. I picked up a Losi 8ight e-buggy from a forum member few months ago for couple of hundred quid and that was with a 4S power system. Admittedly I just wanted the roller and have since popped a 6S castle system into it, but the thing is tough as nails, and I am not going to cry if I smack it into something. N
  15. Nice! That spur gear is tiny mate. How fast is that thing going to go?
  16. Got my EXB - it's awesome looking. Managed to strip the screw that holds the sliding motor mount in place - boy that was jammed in tight! Ordered some better quality replacement ones For some reason I thought I had seen an unboxing video where the screws to mount the motor and at least one pinion gear (12T) was included. If you've had a Kraton EXB arrive recently did you get any of these items?
  17. Thanks folks. No this is not a hoax, and no I have not gone nuts. This has been sat on my shelf in the Garage for 7 years hoping my boys would want to bash with it, but the eldest isn't in to RC at all and the youngest likes the smaller buggies. Jariworsley has first refusal on it and is local. N
  18. Folks My HPI Alza Flux XL is looking for a new home. I simply can't bear the thought of throwing it in the tip, so listing here in the hope someone can find it a good new home. This started out as a Savage X brushless conversion which already had the LST2 shocks, ally lower arms and hub carriers, and RPM upper arms when I got it. I then installed the bulletproof diffs, I then got the Alza Racing XL conversion with the 4mm aluminium TVPs, Castle 1717 centre diff conversion, HPI lightning centre diff and a beautiful machined aluminium front driveshaft from the lovely guys Alza Racing. Here is my build thread from 2014: It also comes with an SF5 servo and a painted GT2 Gigante body which is in pretty good nick. To finish it needs a 1717 style motor, ESC and radio gear Snags It corners like a blancmange as it has no sway bars, but flies down the straights and jumps liek a champ. There is a little crack at the base of the mid body roll cage. There is a mixture of Philips(original HPI) head and hex hardware (Alza stuff). There is play in the hub carriers in keeping with the age of the model. It's nearly Christmas and I have gone a bit crackers - I am asking for just £1, but here's the deal: You have to come and collect from the Cambridge area. I will not split it - don't message me for bits. I want the whole thing to go to a good new home. Pictures follow Gigante GT Bodyshell: Massive LST2 shocks 4mm TVPs - the ESC plate needs a better mounting solution Small crack in the mid roll cage SF5 servo and that beautiful machined front driveshaft HPI Lighnint centre diff in diff mount / motor mount
  19. Nice! How does that motor mount hope up to the 1717's torque?
  20. Folks, anyone on here with a Kraton EXB built up with a 1717 happen to know the dry weight (i.e. no lipos)? I've been dusting off my Alza Flux XL which has an old school Castle 1717 1580kv motor. It weighs 7kg dry weight (it's got a lot of ally on it), and I'm trying to work out whether to keep the motor and flip the chassis to a Kraton EXB. My Missus needs new glasses and I'm hoping she might not notice the difference between the two!
  21. So cool! Front and rear diff housings seem to have slightly different shapes. Wonder why that is?
  22. Thanks - using the Hobbywing 10Bl120. It's the motor causing the notchiness I reckon. If you run the boggy on a surface without the motor installed it is so buttery smooth. With the motor in you can feel the notchiness as you move it back and forth. On power, the motor runs smoothly but the notchiness comes back when you are idling / off power. Maybe my Ares motor is a pile of poo. I've had SkyRC 1:8 and 1:5 motors before and been impressed with them generally. I'll pull the sensor wire first - see what difference that makes.
