turnigy Nano tech now have a comp spec pack that has more punch, it has something added that greatly reduces the internal resistance so it can discharge power much faster than the standard nano tech pack but 3CELL 5000mah will set you back $129 look it up on hobbyking, why buy a branded pack from the uk and pay silly money, 25-40c about 50 pounds you must be mad

But the 2028 only has 26,500 rpm the 1717 has 39,500 both on 11T pinion its there in black and white:) one will do 30mph the other 50+

One good thing to do with your vader is to strip the diffs and clean out the chewing gum the factory put in as grece and replace it with some good hi temp stuff youll be suprised how restricted the diffs are with that stuff in.

I think 18T might be too big there is only so much movement on the motor mount, how do i get hold of Richard and what would you want for one of yours if it would fit? is it 5mm shaft?

I had an ftx for about two weeks and put a jetpro exhaust on @ 129 pounds and air filter and it was still rubbish only 2.5hp lugging around 12kg so i went brushless and ill never look back see f you can get the losi without the engine then convert it to brushless lots more power without the mess or smell.

So it's better to stick with the 1717 then, im looking at getting a hardend steel 13-14T pinion to kick it up some more but they only come in 8mm shaft size so i will need a reducer to 5mm i look at a vid on you tube of a chap with a 2028 and xl2 in a redcat wich is the same car and it didnt seem all that, the next thing might be a water jacket with lquid cooling for the motor, but in saying all this ill prob sell it next week lol Thanks for you replys

I have been giving this some thought if there are any massive gains to be had changing up from a 1717 to a 2028 apart from more torque, now the 2028 has a max rpm of 30,000 and the 1717 has a max of 45,000 so if i had two cars the same with the same gearing for 34v on the 2028 i would get 26,520 rpm and for 25v on the 1717 i would get 39,500 rpm so for about the first 3-4m the 2028 would pull away with the higher torque but the the rpm of the 1717 would win the race,correct me if im wrong but the 2028 can push 10hp and the 1717 is about 7-8hp so if you got a 2028 in a losi5 that is about 12kg plus the weight of the extra cells to get 34v then the torque is usefull but like my vader with the 1717 in that is about 4-5kg not as much torque is needed so higher rpm is better. What do you think?
