  1. Each to their own tho, I rarely look at plug colour and tune it by how it goes and sound, and if it ain't broke don't fix it! NO set right or wrong, we will all do what suits us best
  2. As above got them on both, 5b and shorty and work great
  3. Somehow managed to get the clodbuster esc to go up in a puff of smoke, and stripped one gearbox down as the independent steering servo mount, Had bust gearbox cases where it bolts through.
  4. So did you order the 0230mg or 0231mg as the 0230mg is 7.4v and is best ran With lipo to get max torque, on 6v be little weak. Or you get 0231 as in your first post you mentioned it, as 0231 ideal on 6v.
  5. The servo above be fine, ive just fitted savox 0230mg which is only 8kg torque In my 5b shorty. It's all about how set your brakes up. I only got ent points on about 60% for brake and locks wheels up no problem! My full size 5b using the alturn which is 11kg torque is same locks hostile tires no probs I use 3 brake pad set up on both my cars.
  6. I use https://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-high-performance-race-servo-high-torque-/rc-car-products/359784 Also remove the star between the brake disc's and replace with a 3rd (middle) brake pad made of carbon fibre, much improves things!!
  7. First off refill the tank see if any difference, I'd also say vent in fuel cap blocked But fill tank 1st then rule out fuel starvation as could just be feed pipe needs pushing in little more
  8. Marder - hpi baja 5b - Leicestershire

Old tamiya Clodbuster for sale Not the best paint job but this is an old one with chevy grill & tailgate. 11. With finger put brakes on by pushing P shape thing with finger, which stop gears turning And while doing that turn one wheel while on its stand, other wheel should turn other way Or hold spur if cover is off With thick oil it makes cogs easier to turn than the spider gear in the diff, but by applying the brake it stops that

    Clod going

Yeah pics? Gotta love the clods
  13. I've always run putoline oil, Ive found it to be good stuff when had my cr125 & kx250 so always stuck to it. I use the MX7 tho
  14. Top man, which one you purchase?
  15. Not a standar one! One you have to plug in RX & coil so it remote kills the engine if loss signal or you activate on 3rd channel. You should do a little research
  16. I went secondhand hpi and never regretted it! No need with big ore kits 23,s will Rev it's nuts off. Just give it good look over if you can before buying if you choose it
  17. Yeah I have irc stuff and nice price stuff TR is dear but their front top plate is nice and so strong, it's beefy like stek cut chips The trouble is alloys no alloy, so ppl make mistake of buying something that's not made with the right grade of materials so won't withstand the abuse it gets
  18. Not for me! These cars weigh that much as it is and I like to keep em as quick as, so less is more! As when not bashing on your own, and bashing at peak was 6 - 8 bajas in total you want to be mixing it with the best of them on laid out track
  19. You mean lower one like this http://www.innovative-rc.com/innovativerc-baja-under-chassis-brace-silver-p-478.html?osCsid=745ebae54d6b159db0755b0f97890224
  20. I only had blowtorch to hand, was careful and took my time. It's nice stuff tho and was pullin the corners in and it's go some spring/flex to it!
  21. Or make your own bumpers, I did last week and saved nearly 80quid Only got pic of front tho I used 6mm but next time I do front again in going with 8mm Bought here http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=360773484695
  22. The degree shims are for rear toe in, caster is adjusted on the front. Only on standard car as if changed to like rpm arms you lose this option
  23. Here you go. http://www.freeprawnracing.co.uk/ddm-steel-wheel-scraper-set-for-hpi-baja-5b-5t-5sc.html
  24. Standard 6mm HD 8mm 6001 2rs bearing. 12x28x8 if I'm correct Fixed hubs come in standard or HD so that's 2 diff bearing sizes Fixed hubs have the bearing seat cut at an angle so the bearing don't sit square when fitted Say left side might be flush while right side is sitting proud Which give you the x amount of degree chosen Adjustable hubs have plastic insert on lower pin which changes tow in But over time can wear and give you movement/slop
