Deans are just crap mate ive only tried cheap ones mayb they melt easier still. But genuine deans are usually said to be hard to solder on. I melted 10 pairs or so then found xt60 plugs. Tin them dunk the wire in like a bullet and fill her up. 10x easier i swear.

I have some solder guys on here recomend i haven't tried it yet but hoping it makes soldering easier. The stick type irons i couldn't use at all no heat. Now have a 50w maplins cheap ish and always improving now.

But ill stay away from deans myself. We all get abit of tech rage now and then lol.

Helps if you connect 2 together to share the heat load.

I found it better myself if I lightly file the gold to expose copper.

  4. What I did last night. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Good on Carisma, a great gesture to their customers.
  6. For me the Losi is my choice out of these two. However all this faffing with companies, parts availability and prices etc has put me off. I was 100% getting either one of these trucks when I first saw them. Now I think I'll just get a new paddleboard instead and see nearer Xmas. Just have to make do with the Yeti for now!
  7. Haldon Woods is good for trailing, Haytor and Spitchwick are great for fast and big air.
  8. Welcome to the forum, get some pics up and let the parts-nerds have fun! Where abouts in this green and pleasant county are you?
  9. I may sell the yeti xl to get one, they would look nice running together though.
  10. Think I'm still leaning towards the Losi from what I've seen so far.
  11. Nice location, love the bonnet flapping, looks spot on. You can't beat this county for bash spots!
  12. When you put it like that, only a 100 extra it certainly makes you think.
  13. It looks ok if I'm honest but I'd rather see some on a muscle car a la Kiekhaefer Camreo style.
  14. A fool and his money......... on which note, I have some pre production rc4wd scale rust for all you wealthy collectors, only £500 per gram. See me round the back of the forum, don't let the mods know, cash only.
  15. It's a health and safety thing, it stops you hurting your back by emptying your wallet for you, thereby lightening your load.
  16. Just do it, the grin factor will far outweigh the memory of the price, or you could just wait for the next one and see if it's a better price but how long will that be?
  17. Ali steering link is a must, I'm just waiting on the Hot Racing motor mount as the stock one has slipped a couple of times. Love the truck though, it suits where we can go on Dartmoor perfectly. And yes, the tyres are obscene!
  18. I think the boy shares your wheel fetish evssv
  19. Robinson Racing spur and slipper for the Yeti and yet more wheels for the boys drifting addiction! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I might head over to the Traxxas forum, just to get a 'balanced' view
  21. I bought my mate one of these, I should have kept it! Groovy things.
  22. Stunning, I'm off to have a moment now!
  23. Tyres, lots of them for the boys drifter.
  24. Some decent shocks and tyres and it would make a interesting trailer?
  25. A roller of the desert truck would be nice, not likely but nice.
