    All done now, it seemed to hit a critical point during discharge and the volts fell away rapidly till it hit 0.9v then decased it cut the wires off and have put it in a pot full of very salty water

    Im currently keeping an eye on it and it pack is in a lipo safe bag too. Its just taking ages. Or I could put my brushed firestorm outside on the patio and do as nuttyprofessor says above?

    Well its been on for 15min now at 1.9a discharge rate and the voltage as barely moved at all has drained 500ma only from the pack

    ive just put the charger into nimh discharge to 0.10v total but it will only go at 1.9a rate! would it be a risk to put it in my (currentl) brushed firestorm and run it round the garden to discharge it??

    Ok ill do that now as its been like this a while (unused) and stored in a lipo safe bag. My charger will only go down to 3v per cell on discharge or do I put it into nimh mode?

    Ok so heres the lipo in question: I had taped it previously when there was a little gap and its stretched that open now. Can I cut the plug off and then chuck the whole pack in a bucket of salt water? Whats the correct disposal procedure?

      Wierd I could not update microsoft essentials today as it said server was offline or something, I wonder if problem is with internet in general and not forum??

    You may have just fried the receiver. Do any lights come on the esc? What car/electronics?

    I think it also depends on the quality of the fuel too. All the nitros ive ever had have only used byrons or opti (im sure there are other good brands) Firing up the XXL!?

    One of my 2s lipos has puffed up and split the hard case open, I take it its scrap now? cell voltages are all good and always storage charged but I did get it second hand. Its one of those supposedly 90c orion carbon lipos, what should I do? chuck it in salt water?

    Ive just been looking though all the models since the first one on HPI's website. They were all 87t until the current model flux which has a different type of spur gear (the blitz spur/slipper) to all the others and has 77t, 83 + 88T options now.

    Sounds like a 23t is what I need to get similar with my spur although the firestorm is prob a little lighter than blitz. Does anyone know what the biggest pinion the firestorm/blitz motor mount will take with a standard 87t spur?

      Well it was good while it lasted, broke a drive shaft and wire to motor was getting red hot so have to sort these bits out

      Lol...Did one tank. .almost. ...stopped. ..filled  up n it wouldn't  start again :ack:. ...buti thk i disturbed the kill switch when i changed the stock nimh to a li-fe.....so decided  to go home. .then the bloody v strom wouldn't  start either :censored:.....poked..pushed. .pulled  all the wires. .Chked fuses....still nothing.... then it jus decided to come to life after about 15 mins.... :huh:......

    that's a 540 size motor as bullet flux is smaller than gv cage you need 8th scale stuff. This is for things like firestorms that are lighter
